I think Baron Kurtz was trying to be helpful. He guessed wrong. Okay.
So never mind what you paid for it, where did you get it? I haven't been able to find a store in NYC with such interesting leather jackets.
Not often. I'm careful about wearing it. You never know when some
guy is gonna come in out of town and try to ply you with alcohol until
he can get his hands on it.
But I am not opposed to wearing it (after all, that was the result of the poll).
I just don't always don a vintage...
I have one in a box right over here... oh, yeah...
I guess Stetson made a lot of 5X hats in the 70s. I almost didn't bid on the one I got because I'd seen so many
unappealing 70s 5X cowboy hats on eBay. But then I saw that date on the sweatband...
I think you're doing fine for...
Given that there has been a lot of discussion regarding Mark, I hope he is not in any way restrained from presenting his side of the story.
For the moment, I think it's worth noting that Aero Leather Scotland was aware as early as Fall of last year that multiple customers of
Aero Leather USA...
Hey Rockabilly, did you try Googling it?

Johnson Leathers is also on Polk, up the street a ways.
You might call them and ask about Hard On Leather.
Very possibly the jacket was made by Johnson, who have
more than one label themselves, and re-branded. In any
event, they are sure to know about another leather jacket
brand on the...
I had meant to make the point that military issue didn't really mean a custom tailored look and that's authentic, too.
Glad you understand that. As for growing, I wasn't thinking you'd get a lot more height, but there's a chance you'll
change in girth over a few decades, one way or another...
Very nice jacket. I think you'll find the sleeves get a bit shorter as they age and crease.
It's a touch large but at that price... just fine. And you may grow a bit... in one direction or another...
over the 30-some years of wear you'll get out of this jacket.
I quite like this one... which is a good thing because I bought it.

Very nice hats here. I saw a Dobbs that was almost identical to the white one here- one of the
lightest, softest hats I have ever held, and in like new condition. I posted about it in Classifieds, but
didn't buy it 'cause it was over $100 and not my size.
Anyway, nice to see rlk's is...
I'll try this and perhaps a wire or stiff brush to see if I can blend the edges of the divots.
If anyone has an additional suggestion, post away!
Thanks.
Will post the results... and the coat... once it is back from the cleaners.
Reviving an old thread (no pun intended).
I picked up a 100% cashmere overcoat from the early 50s (date inside) at a thrift store today.
It has a fair number of moth divots, but only a couple of holes, in very difficult to see spots.
Since it is thick cashmere, I am thinking I might try...
I defer to others, as I said- just opening the dating question.
However, I'd like to point out, Alan, that the other option at Fedorafest is just not to drink with Jim.
Okay, I guess that's not realistic.
Again, great hat.
Left for work this morning dressed in a recent black wool overcoat, light grey 1940s/50s Mode Edge Stetson fedora,
grey scarf, black Carhartts, and burgundy Wesco boots. My neighbor complimented me on how sharp I looked.
Then she said it... 'you look like... Indiana Jones!'.
It was meant well.
Fantastic hat! Congrats. Fascinating to see another one.
First, let me say to Lefty that if Zetwal is parting with hats he is probably more
okay than most of us horders.
I have not been as fastidious as some with the clues for dating Stetsons. But this one appears more
1950s than 1930s...
