Interesting. I have one just like this in gray. What is interesting is that it is from the same shop,
Paul T. Carroll of San Francisco. I wonder if that shop requested the style. Has anyone ever seen
a "Gay Prince" style C&K that did not come from Carroll's store? BTW mine is a 7 1/4 if...
I have a perhaps 1940s Californian deerskin sportscoat. It doesn't quite fit me at about a size 46,
but I can understand the appeal of that fine, soft material.
Saw a Schott fringe suede jacket at a flea market in NYC a couple of weeks ago (the one on Columbus,
near 77th, in the school...
Hi All,
Anyone have a small vintage top hat they want to get rid of cheap?
Can be quite scuffed up, as long as it still looks cool.
Yes, Halloween is coming up (and it's not for my much larger brain pan).
PM me?
Thanks!
Funny guy, eh? Got that image off the Web.
Personally, I'd be worried about gum or candy in the pocket. One of my favorite leather jackets has a lump of.... well, gum or candy
I'm not sure, adhered to the inside of the pocket.
I like my Redwood and black Wescos and I'm picky about shades of red. You can see them here:

Does it say something about the average age here that no one has said "iPod"?
My favorite artifact of the cigarette age is the ash tray on the SAGE console, seen here in the lower left:
Sure thing, Marc, except for the shameful brim binding. That would not have flown in the day.
Look how far the stitching is from the edge of the binding.
Thanks guys. I'll let you know if it fits when it arrives. Also the seller never answered my question about the condition of the
collar where it touches the back of the neck- a common failure point for vintage leather jackets. But at that price...
The point is, there are a lot of those...
Just picked this one up for $89:
Leather looks nicely broken in (it's from the mid-to-late 70s according to online tag dating). Hoping it will fit.
Might not be the precise model you are looking for, but there are a lot of Schott jackets out there, already broken in.
Yeah, I've found Cavanaghs amenable to stretching, at least some.
Thanks for humoring me and having a look at the label.
It's a nice hat, Alan, and a good weight for your Buffalo winter. Wear it in good health.
noclevermoniker1969 is a former member here (unless I'm mixed up and am thinking of the wrong guy).
I tried to get his Cavanagh this evening, but the reserve is North of $200 and he didn't get that (I wasn't the top bidder).
If it is re-listed I may have to reconsider. He is listing some...
Why not get an actual used one for a lot less money?
Some of the old ones are supposed to be of good quality...
Otherwise, why miss out on the fun of breaking in your own jacket?
Cellophane. It's very crinkly, right?
I'm saying late 40s, based on the (gorgeous) look of the felt, the ribbon/binding, tag, and logo (actually they look older
than that...) in spite of the 50s-looking sweatband.
Killer deal. Great hat.
Interesting. What does it say under the sweat? Color/model? Buffalo?
The tooled sweat is interesting- the one that used to be on my OR-style Cav
had tooling, but most Cav sweats I've seen don't. Figured it might accompany a
particular quality designation.
I have a couple like this...
Whoa, your dad was great. One has the impression he was quite a character off screen, too.
Loved Johnny Guitar. I still have a Spanish poster for the movie.
