New jacket find in the UK surprisingly, NRY Brand West Wear? 'The Roust About' . Very similar to 'The Cody Rancher', maybe The Cody was made by NRY Brand? and we've seen that back design before in this thread from Bay River. Feels like they were all made by Bay River ?

Picked up an old western wear catalog from 1968 and discovered the Cody Rancher inside, they had a fleece lined version too.

‘At Last! A real rancher's jacket that has rugged western styling. Goes well with all types dress. Made of soft sueded cowhide splits. No.

FL702M is lined with sherpa.
Looks like real sheepskin.

No. FL700 is unlined, has brown
goatskin collar. Color: Buckskin.-Heavy Duty snap Fasteners.’

Hi everyone!
I am brandnew on here and this is my fist post :)
I am collecting suede jackets and shirts from the Corral Sportwear spectrum myself and will post pics of them soon. Here a little additional info about the company >

From "The Daily Ardmoreite“, Ardmore, Okla. Thursday, January 25, 1973:

Corral Sportswear of Ardmore was there to fill the void. The Ardmore-based firm turns out about 60 different clothing styles including vests, jackets and pants. All are made of leather and they range in price from about $50 to $250.

Corral and its subsidiary, Western Leather, sells to retail outlets from New York to California as well as many foreign countries. Parent company for both firms is Tandy Corp., Ft. Worth.

In 20 years, Corral Sportswear has grown from a two-man operation in a 25x30 building on Caddo to a firm that is known the world over. Selling under the trademark, JO-o-Kay, the company now has more than 15,000 feet of floor space in a modern building on Moore St. SW.
The firm was started on Feb.1 1953 by Mr. and Mrs. John H. Simpler and is still run by the Simpler‘s sons, John and Ron.

JO-o-Kay is the number one leather outerwear manufacturer in the United States, and is thought to be the only firm in the country that deals exclusively in leather.

Most of the products are made from lampskin suede or split cowhide, but capeskin, cabretta (leather from a New Zealand long-haired sheep), and top-grain leather is also used either alone or in combination with suede or "rough out“ leather.

Fringe, the almost-trademark of the hippie culture, is popular with everybody everywhere, Corral officials say, and it accents many of their designs.
Although, Corral manufactures basically western wear, they are gradually branching out into other types of clothing - still in leather.
Purses and billfolds made at the Western Leather plant on Lake Murray Drive South are almost exclusively western-look.

The company has migrated from exclusively hand-tooled crafts to purses that are partly embossed and partly tooled, then hand-laced. Billfolds are all hand-tooled, hand-dyed and hand-laced.

A new style purse called „Latigo“ was introduced to the line in August of last year and has proved to be a red-hot item.

The smooth leather bags have a minimum of tooling - usually just a simple flower with a pair of leaves - and are hand-dyed in an antiquing process that gives them an individualistic look.

Although the company sells from one end of the country to the other, Douglas Smith, a Western Leather executive, says tastes very from one area to another. For example, Easterners tend to go for closed handbags, Smith said, while Californians prefer open-type.

It takes about 6 hours to make a purse and prices range from$3.60 for a small coin purse to $25 for a large handbag.
Western Leather makes about 40 different styles. Their products can be seen in retail stores all over the country, including four in Ardmore.
