I never met him, but wish I had. Now that I've seen his work, I'm bowled over.
He was within easy driving distance of me, too.
Wondering what other impressive craftspeople we have here?
Do we have a general craftperson thread on this site? I know we have one
for art (and one for Art), but...
I assumed it would be standard on my FQHH Hercules, but it wasn't. The cuffs
are wrinkling as fast as any other part of the jacket. It's okay, but not my preference.
I suspect most heavy duty vintage jackets would have the double leather cuff (obviously
excepting those with knits).
That's a nice jacket. Quality in every detail. I like those knits, too.
Seems like a very thick capeskin? When is lamb skin or sheep not capeskin? Congrats on the fit.
Nice work, Brad.
Looking forward to seeing the derbies everyone must be working on now.
I imagine some of those brim and binding techniques apply to homburgs, too?
At the prices on that RRL page, I could have that stuff made custom. There is a RRL store in London, but I admit that's still
a long way from Euskadi.
Hoping to see some of that at cut rate outlet stores some day.
Gee, is gold really $24K/lb? So my Hercules' weight in gold would be worth around $190K?
I am not *that* enthused with it.
But you do have nice jackets.
Wear it.
Remember that motorcycle jackets are supposed to have longer sleeves. They are
cut to cover your wrists when you are reaching forward for the grips.
Thanks to all and here's hoping I didn't cost Davy Crockett too much money...
I will post more pix as it breaks in. Right now...
Possibly the last jacket Mark Moye sent out... I waited over 2 years for this.
I'm not going to say it was worth it, but I do like the jacket. FQHH, made by Vicki.
Customizations: hand warmer and flap pockets removed, internal "G1" pocket,
HH label inside internal pocket, black cotton drill...
Ah, thanks Brad. I was guessing 60s if for no other reason than the nice printing on the sweatband and the nice felt.
Be interesting to know when Norman Sims closed. Just found this though:
There's plenty of information on when Norman Sims opened in SLC and the new store in 1952, but I...
Oops, deleting links to pictures because I posted them pictures previously, here:

Very interesting to hear this hat has to be from after 1972.
Graemsay, yes I will... as soon as I find a photo hosting site I like. I don't like the changes to Flickr, so it's time for a new service
with better URLs for the pictures.
