Yes, I am envious of your collection... and very much appreciate that you share it here.
I do plan to photograph my shoes. Meant to do "before" and "after" on the Keith Highlanders and Wright
because they were so new, so perfectly uncreased. Oh well.
So is there any difference between the...
I have been buying some vintage and nearly dead stock Stetson, Wright, and Keith Highlander shoes lately.
I have a difficult size- 10.5 EEE- so they don't come around often. I'd hate to rip the leather. Any suggestion
on how to avoid tearing old leather? Treat them with Cadillac Shoe...
Thank you for the time and effort you put in to this experiment. A wonderful result (but don't get it wet!).
If I might state the obvious, part of the reason we don't see such hats and do see stingy, low-crowned, often
fabric "fedoras" is because style as a whole has taken a dive. People...
I'd look under the sewn parts (along the edges) to see if the material looks lighter or darker underneath.
Often a covered area retains the original color/tanning where exposure to light/air/dust/etc has darkened
or lightened the rest of the coat. Might look pretty bad.
Surely once Aero determines from photos that a jacket was made with a leather other than
the one promised, they will pay for the shipping to replace the jacket?
Holly,
I have written you separately. I suspect no one will want to send in their jacket for inspection. At least
not from this side of the pond. It would probably save everyone a lot of trouble if you could post pictures
of grain and creasing for both kinds of leather and a means, if any...
The cotton drill in my Hercules is pretty rough, as in abrasive. More like a burlap feel than the drill in my GW A1.
If I had it to do over, I would probably pursue something different. That said, one of the jackets Mark Moye messed
up and sent me had sateen over cotton in the sleeves and...
While I believe I have Amanda to thank for getting *anything* out of Mark Moye/Aero USA, I wonder how he got away
with as much as he got away with. Surely someone on the other side of the pond had some involvement, if only in not
keeping an eye on the ball. So I am not surprised by the...
Hi Tontus,
I assume you've seen my Hercules, w/out the bottom pockets. Personally, I am happy I kept the breast pocket. I like what
it does to the otherwise smooth look. I am with jack miranda on the back- I'd go so far as to say that's too much of a change.
I am pleased that the zipper...
People often say "nice hat" and I wonder if they mean it is a nice hat (it usually is)
or if it looks good on me (usually questionable). That is a nice jacket and it looks good on you.
