How do you like your oldies music?

The "bass" used on some digital restorations of 1920s music is terrible. It is overly-thumping and leaves a lot of "dead air" over the track in an attempt to cover up the charming pops and hisses. I still prefer my old music to sound OLD and mono and somewhat tinny. That's the way I like it.

What is your alsolute favorite song?

"Run Run Away" by Slade for ALL TIME favourite. "If I Had A Talking Picture Of You" for an all-time favourite oldie. I'm also quite fond of a certain 1931 song by Harry Roy & His Bat Club Boys!!!

Where do you think vintage is more popular?

All I know is that it's not popular here lol

How do you like your oldies music?

I love grainy, poppy, static-y, lo-fi old music the way it was meant to be heard. It gives it charm and character. I also despise this "bass" cover-up that lots of "remastered" 1920s songs have. Ick. It's MEANT to sound tinny and that's the way we all love it. If you're talking newer...

    The new Mullett

The mullet is still popular in deep South Jersey. Especially the moustache/mullet combo. Worn in all seriousness since 1982!!

What Sort of Vintage Enthusiast Are You?

"4) Suggested by Vanessa, The Authenitc Reproducers: This person has a library full of vintage patterns, books on vintage clothes, and copies of the old Sears catalogue. This person has trouble finding room for the clothes they make along with all of the fabric they keep on hand to make them...

    The Pain of Nostalgia

SIMPLER TIMES: I have an old expenses book handwritten by my grandfather. He spent 38 cents on whisky in January 1937!! lol And $2.17 on a new tire for his car!!

    The Pain of Nostalgia

TOTALLY AGREE. I love comparing the two times. One of the reasons it fascinates me is because it's so different in such a short period of time. But to go back? Hell no. Today is great. Going by my female ancestors, if I were alive in th 20s-30s-40s I would have lived in a tiny town...

    Oh I hit the jackpot

My dad has lots of movies from the 1940 (even some in colour!) They are fabulous. My Aunt Ella flips off the cameraman in one film. lol I'd love to see, of course!!!

    Dita Von Teese

I'd hardly call Dita a "lady." lol. That's kind of one of the reasons I *want* to like her, but she needs to get a persona first.

    Dita Von Teese

She's boring in interviews. She speaks in a monotone. She rarely gets emotional or excited about anything (at least the interviews I've seen.) Just Bleh. Her appearance would have you think otherwise that's why I've always been indifferent to her.

    Your alter Golden-age ego?

JEAN HARLOW!! All I need is the face, the body, and the persona and I'm there!! lol

    Dita Von Teese

She's as dull as a rock when she speaks (monotone, ZERO emotion), but I like her hair.
