    Dating for Fedora Loungers?

:eusa_clap Yup, my paternal great-grandmother worked in a glass factory according to the 1910 census. My paternal grandmother worked in a can factory according to the 1920 census :D My other grandmother was a nurse from 1949 (after she graduated high school!) up until she retired in 1994...

    Not Like New... Like Vintage!

When I tell people I sew my own they are usually amazed and intrigued. A lot of them express interest in sewing when I tell them they can make ANYTHING they want in ANY colour or fabric. But none of them ever follow through lol A lot of them tell me they "don't have time" or "it's too hard to...

    Not Like New... Like Vintage!

From a woman's POV, I make all my clothes from authentic vintage patterns and that's great enough for me! I have the cut and the style that I like, but it's newly made and sturdy! I don't wear real vintage ever. I don't want to ruin anything with my clumsiness!!

I get that! It's so awkward. I do it with pincurls, and, well, most people don't know what a pincurl is. I have to explain my explanation!! lol

    Pomade in men's hair, ladies?

I've got a "thing" for hair and hair products so I do love my man's hair to be pomaded and "untouchable"!! I call it "Devo Hair" -- lol , because it looks plastic. I LOVE that look. Perfectly sculpted hair gets me every time.;)

Comments You Get When You Dress Vintage

I've had people take pictures of me before!! I usually call them out by posing or asking if they want me to pose. They usually feel REALLY STUPID when I do that lol lol

Music suggestions 20's 30's big band & jazz?

Fred Waring & His Pennsylvanians! Totally, unmistakeably 1920s in music and lyrics. Boswell Sisters. Fabulous girl-group harmonies. Russ Carlson & His High-Steppers. Delightful early 1930s dance-band music.

Westward Ho! They moved to Cambridge for a brief time and now they are back in the Westward Ho! area. I forget the name right now, but they said they are near Atlantic Village. Also, in Brighton no one looked at me weird. I got hit on by a few guys in the pub :D

Comments You Get When You Dress Vintage

My hubby is from London so we go there a lot and I never got a positive OR negative comment in the city of London or Cambridge way (where the in-laws live). Devon (where the in-laws USED to live), on the other hand, I *did* get several comments. They were mixed. The verbal comments were all...

    Medium Length vintage hair styles

My hair is layered, shorter than yours in the pic, and I can do victory rolls just fine. Wet set your hair in pincurls and it won't slide all over the place and it will stay in chunks better.
