SHANGAS:
I collect vintage yearbooks and I can assure you that people in the 1930s had the same problems with "your/you're" "there/their/they're" and 's as they do today. When I saw it repeatedly in the signatures I found it to be endearing, actually.
That's a good idea -- I've never been measured. I do have strap indentations, and my breasts spill out of the sides sometimes. I'm probably bigger and just don't want to admit it to myself. :(
PS -- I wanted a breast reduction at 12, also. I sprouted overnight!! lol I hated them so much...
Big breasts are not fun and anyone who wants bigger is, frankly, nuts lol
I have permanent indentations on my shoulders from having to wear a bra 24/7 (except in the shower, of course!), I can't go braless because they begin to hurt, blouses NEVER fit correctly, and those things are always...
My body issue is big breasts. I make blouses a little longer so they don't "ride up." I also end up adding just a bit more to the bust area. 36D :(
I also dislike my hips. I'm a textbook hourglass! My waist is tiny compared to the two. High-waisted pants DO accentuate the waist and not...
I can scratch some names from my original list from '07 :(
Doris Eaton (1904)
Charles Lane (1905)
Anita Page (1910)
Dorothy Janis (1910)
Beverly Roberts (1914)
Virginia Davis (1918)
I was unaware that Grace Bradley was still alive!
With the Paramount Proteges of 1935...

Oooh! I loved this dress so much I made it twice!! Yours is divine!
And so is everything else I see here. Makes me want to quit school and sew all night instead ;)
I wear my hubby's old boxers and old 90s band t-shirts to sleep in. And my bra -- can't sleep without support!! :D
But so that image won't be ingrained in anyone's brain, here is Carole Lombard wearing some cute jim-jams:
And Norma Shearer in some jammies (or jammie-likes!):
Personally, I *like* it that I don't know the exact history behind most of my vintage things. Like Mojito said, imagination is an awesome thing!
And NONE of my dresses have cone-shaped boobies lol Oh, yea, that's right. There was a time BEFORE WW2 that most people don't bother to know...
deleteduser,
You are so young -- you should take up sewing! I wish i did when I was your age. This way, you can MAKE all your own dresses from vintage patterns and you would know they would be authentically from the era. You can also choose whichever fabric/design you want. Not only...
I totally agree with this! It was so Dolly Parton-esque (whom i LOVED) and just tacky and huge and trashy all at the same time. Still got a soft spot in my heart for it today.
I figured this would make a lot of you gals laugh. I think anger over nothing important in hilarious!! lol Gotta admit I sometimes get the same chuckle on certain threads here, too :o :D
