What say the lounge on a longer jacket (30") that has a front horizontal yoke. Which back yoke style would look best ? and which would look out of place?
STF- Super Tight Fit. I believe this is for the Aero stockist in Japan. Since they're generally a smaller body overall compared to us fattys in USA! ha. FYI - at 180lbs I would not suggest a 40. I'm only 160lb and take a 42.
I personally feel the center vent will start gaping slightly once the coat is fully broken in. It will never look as tight as does brand new. For that reason Id pass on that back style. I also think the back curved yoke might look a bit odd when paired with the front straight chest yoke. Re-...
True, you cant just shove your hands into the pockets. You have be a bit cautious of the zips. Maybe sanding down the new zipps slightly would help.
But from a looks standpoint, wouldnt having the zipps keep it a bit crisper looking. Usually the handwarmers start gaping / sagging over time on...
Specifically on 3/4 style jacket like the Aero Long Halfbelt, where there is also a cargo pocket flap. I think it would be great functionally having zipps on those pockets but I haven't seen too many examples besides Highwayman/Cafe Racer style. But those don't have the overlapping cargo pocket...
I guess this one was just never worn and kept in the back of a closet somewhere. It fits extremely well so I'll probably just wear it naturally /rain etc and see what happens. Also amazing how much condition this thing is sucking up. It was like a dry/tough/plastic feeling hide when I got it...
Any sure way to tell its Steer or Horse? This one really wasn't worn and shows no scrapes/fading/or anything. Were they made with protective topcoats? Id prefer a worn look and might resort to some rubbing alcohol on this one. Or maybe a trip to the dry cleaners.
My most recent purchase. A Brent Halfbelt in what feels like thin steer hide. Some sections kind of feels like it has a plastic top coat on it? Any idea what year this from based on the tag and Talon (plain box) zippper?
Hmm, looks good Seb. Too bad you didn't have it handy for a few other angles. Think it might work on a Black version of this old montgomery ward coat? Either with two chest pockets, one, or none.

Tossing historical accuracy aside, what about from a purely functional / balanced look to the jacket. Wouldn't it fit pretty well lookwise with the dual chest zips? Yes, it would be a more modern/fashion design vs a true historical report. But my main purpose isn't to reproduce an old fashioned...
Any opinions on a Black Aero Cropduster made with Zip Sleeves or Button Cuff instead of the straps? Maybe there are some photos floating around the lounge somewhere??
But NYC is just a tiny bit colder than Texas mr fanch. I have cotton drill in 3 jackets and it's just bearable. That's why I'm looking for a slightly warmer sleeve, but don't want to sweat like I'm wearing shearling. I'm also not one to layers clothes. Just a single long sleeve shirt or sweater...
Definitely concerned with durability since this will be a Long Halfbelt in cordovan Steer. Will be worn in NYC Fall winter, so 30F-55F. Can anyone chime in on how Cord/Moleskin sleeve linings might work? Maybe full cord / full moleskin, or cord body and moleskin sleeves?
How does the Harris Tweed compare to Aero's Brown Herringbone Tweed? Warmer? Softer? Durability? Coat will be about 28inch long so I need something that can take abuse. Alpaca would be warm but probably wear through easily.
The strap cuff looks good on that style. Still not sure how'd they blend in or clash with the front cargo pocket design of the LHB. Might be safe and just go for the american cuff, but I would like the ability to tighten them up since they're pretty wide cuffs as is.
Im with Seb on this. Teamster is a much different looking jacket and the button cuff suits it perfectly. It' has a lot more deco going on so the cuff blends in. HBD, again more going on deco wise so the button cuff looks good.
LHB is a more streamlined / basic style which is why Im not certain...
