Think I've been swayed to the dark side again. Going with Black CXL Steer, lined in brown herringbone tweed. Should make it more versatile than thick alpaca. Ive asked about leather lining the pocket flaps but was told with heavy steer it would alter the shape too much. Should the pocket flaps...
Definitely a sweet jacket with that shearling but way way to warm for me. And I might end up looking like a pimp when I got to work in NYC!
I also have a black barnstormer which kind of fills that void for longer black coat. So it leaves an open slot for dark brown or dark cordovan. Just not...
Looking for some opinions on what color hide suits the Hercules (long deco version with curved piping) best? As well as good lining combos. Pictures always appreciated. Thanks!
Awesome! Your comment confirm my thought about the plain back potentially being a bit restrictive. Might ask Aero to use the northeast bi-swing back then or some other shoulder gussets. Could you please post the measurements whenever you get the chance. Would be a huge help

Any loungers own a Hudson in size 40/42? Looking for some comments / photos on fit and overall opinon of the jacket. I've only seen one member here who had a much larger size 50 Hudson. Looked great on him but hard to translate that into how it would look scaled down to a 40/42 on my more...
Sold on the newsboy for a super casual look. Will add one to my pending Aero order.
But that leaves which brimmed hat to get. Which style Akubra do you guys think could be worn with just a t-shirt / jeans and not look super odd/out of place??
Whats the front length measurement, taken from collar seam where the lining starts? Trying to see how far down that 30s style drop front will come. Any photos of it being worn zipped up?
Campdraft is definitely too coutnry. I might look into a dark brown/black 8piece tweed style as that seems a bit more low key. And possibly a Federation VI, though it seems like a pretty large hat. Whats the color preference for pairing with a cordovan leather / dark brown ?
I definitely prefer darker colors in general, but I just don't want to look all "adventured out" in NYC. Though none of my jackets look Indy like. Well maybe except for my ANJ-3 which I feel channels it slightly ha
Looking for some advice / opinions on which hat styles and color would suit the following leather jackets. Not trying to look like Indiana Jones. And this will be worn in NJ/NYC, so no country styles please. Ideally looking to buy 1 hat that will work with both but Im open to buying two...
Agree, the shorter HB's are more versatile but I've already built up that collection to about 6 jackets. Now I'm looking to build up the longer jacket stable! So far, one Barnstormer and one vintage Brent. Probably enough close space for at least two more long jackets ;)
True. It's just the longer zip coats have the bottom hem measurement (hips) one needs to be careful of. Like on a regular waist length half belt if you have a 24" pit-pit and then it tapers to 22" at the bottom (waist) its ok. But on a longer coat, that bottom hem now has to go over the...
Thanks Grayland. The shoulder measurements on that 38 fit me but the chest is 1" too small. Too many pushups from my military days. But now I now I'm a solid 40 in the LHB based on chest. How's the full action back holding up ? Still looking neat/tight or does it start to become a bit...
Measurements would be great when you get a chance Grayland. Though I'm usually more of a 42 which is why I'm aiming 40. No Vicenza or Natural hide. Going with CXL Steer Burgundy or Brown. I just prefer the feel of the steer. And also think it's more consistent from batch to batch. Sometimes...
Which would you pick and why? I'm not looking for a tight slim fit jacket so these both should be comparable in size 40. And if anyone has measurements on either in 40/42 please post them. Thanks
