Looking for some opinions on what color hide suits the Hercules (long deco version with curved piping) best? As well as good lining combos. Pictures always appreciated. Thanks!
Definitely a sweet jacket with that shearling but way way to warm for me. And I might end up looking like a pimp when I got to work in NYC!
I also have a black barnstormer which kind of fills that void for longer black coat. So it leaves an open slot for dark brown or dark cordovan. Just not sure which will look better with the deco front of the Herc. It has a lot going on
I'd like one of these too. My choice is midweight horse hide in seal brown with brown cotton drill lining (for strength). I would also remove the pocket flaps and just have the side entry pockets. The flaps clutter the look and I never use pockets.
I am inspired by this period Herc which is a lighter horsehide. I'd have it without the belt.
Think I've been swayed to the dark side again. Going with Black CXL Steer, lined in brown herringbone tweed. Should make it more versatile than thick alpaca. Ive asked about leather lining the pocket flaps but was told with heavy steer it would alter the shape too much. Should the pocket flaps be lined with black drill or tweed to match the body lining?
