So happy to have this one in the collection. Thanks again Stefan!

I made it over to Buckaroo Hatters today and picked up my new hat.
In honor of its duck hunting connection, I named it “The Flyway.”
It is a beaver mix western weight, with a just under 5 inch crown at the pinch and a 2 3/8 wide brim, in pecan. The liner is embroidered in black and is my cousins family name. The duck pin belong to my late cousins husband and I honor them both with it!
Thanks Mike for a great hat and a job well done!

This came in yesterday. Third one I've found of these.

Barbisio Cow Boy western (ish) hat in black with a constrasting silvergrey brim binding and ribbon. Size 56 with the bound brim at 7,5cm and the crown at around 11,5cm at the center dent. Made from or with mink fur (according to the sweatband). It does have a really nice hand but, fitting for a western style hat, it is more sturdy than dress style hats from Barbisio. This one has a shorter brim than the other two I own which both have a 9cm brim. There is a lot of information on the sweatband; looks almost like a light ticker! Needs a bit more steaming to get the shape the way I want it, but this one I could and will actually wear.

The contrast between felt and trimmings is severe, yet cool. Love the lining, too. Looking forward to the head shots.

I can't say it's the Barbisio of my dreams, but I admire the ability of the Biella people to create hats for every taste

Brüder Dobesch Wien "Norma", 58 cm, possibly later 1950s. Brüder Dobesch Wien hats are more difficult to find (and most are Homburgs) considering they were a famous Austrian hat company. This Soft Felt has a nice form and a stylish bow design. I also like the felt color and brim treatment. Josef Prix Wien was a famous Vienna Men's Clothing store.

Nice find, Marcel. The outside stitches are what's known as basting or tacking stitches. They hold the ribbon in place so the actual stitches can be sewn in.

By the shape, style, and label I'd say 70s/80s.
