Glad to hear all went well with Aussie Bush Hats. I ordered from them and had a good experience.
I like that wide-brimmed Territory - it will definitely keep the sun off, and it's a good looking hat to boot!
I would second the vote cast for Newcastle Brown Ale, and you might also try a Duvel. Both are on the malty/sweet side of the beer coin, (as opposed to hoppy) and both taste great!
That one is a show-stopper! How do you estimate the age? You mention the patina, so has it become more golden colored over time? If so the result is fantastic. The width and color of the ribbon just plain work.
Douglas, that Borsalino is outstanding; Gene, I love the color on your Hanover Square - I've got my eye peeled for a decent hat in that color for my next purchase; and Goose - the Homburger Helper helped your Homburger help you make a great picture (or something like that - you know the ad.)
I see the resemblance, Garrett. What's the brim on that Adam - about 2"? It's a great looking hat, but as I've come to see I would expect no less from you!
CRH, I believe what you've got there is the old tried-and-true "Keystone Crease." It is named after the keystone used in masonry, as well as the Keystone State - aka Pennsylvania. Well, it works for me anyway.
On a more serious note -- that hat actually looks pretty darn good on you Bob. If it were me, I'd replace the band (which seems to be your instinct, as well).
Cheers,
JtL
I actually vote for keeping the band as is. I've seen enough pictures you've posted to know you have an assortment...
I recognized the Lonesome Dove characters, but I Googled the spelling! I believe you're right about Brokeback Mountain. McMurtry also wrote "The Last Picture Show." It's worth watching.
Thanks for the reply, Marc. You've got a Bantam with no rooster, and Douglas has a rooster with no Bantam! Douglas, I understand your predicament as I have an Open Road that doesn't say Open Road. The Bard said "a rose by any other name," but was he a hat lover?
