I don't know if it's been passed around before on the Lounge, but I have the American Buffalo Collection Rawhide Western hat shown on the link you posted. It's a nice chocolate brown. The felt seems really durable. It's thick felt, and it has an overwelt with what feels like a shapeable wire...
Goose, I know that tune well myself! My Dad taught me to tune a uke that way. I'm not sure if I can play it better than you but I'm up for a Uke-Off!:)
Mulceber, I think you're onto something with this. A down-swooped brim would not lend itself to the image of an open, honest politician, but I'm sure there were plenty of others with less high profiles who wore their OR brims down.
"The full complement of Campdrafts." I can see it in Triple F's future!
However, since I'm an interloper and don't presently own a Campdraft I'll defer to you Drafters. Where's BobC, Indycop, gtdean, Colby Jack, Carter, Jauntyone and others?
Buler, the first hat you posted has a beautifully embossed sweatband - it seems to speak of high quality. The Dunlap brand is a new one to me, but I hope to see more posted.
I think we need to vote on nomenclature here, gentlemen. It's become fairly common usage to say, "a squadron of Fed IV's." But then there are those who prefer, "a fleet of Fed IV's." Then there's the Campdraft. If Triple F gets one in every color (and we know he will) what will that be...
That frieze puts into perspective the logos of yesteryear versus the corporate logos of today. Quite a difference. It's hard not to be judgmental about something like that. The past is gone...
This is quite interesting, Dinerman. Without the deep center crease would you still see the apparent reverse taper? I agree with Mario, in that it's a great look. If this is a distinguishing feature of the 30's I'm a fan of 30's styled hats.
Hey High Pockets, if you're looking for someone to talk you out of ordering a Fed IV in every color you've come to the wrong place! You could have a fleet like Goose or Triple F! I vote for calling it a gaggle of Fed IV's once you have them.
The rule is you always approach someone with a fez and ask, "Are you ever gonna do it without the fez on?" That's the rule. With apologies to Fagin and Becker...
No offense taken, Jimmy. The thought came up while I was reading the discussion. I'm all for keeping the topic on Borsalino. I've read this thread with interest, as there seems to be no consistencies in terms of dating. Have any solid conclusions been made???
