Both of my original RWs a 27752 and 18091 are size 44 and fit great. My Buzz RW is a 42 and fits fantastic. The 44 Buzz RW I had (same model as the 42) was a bit too big not much but certainly not the fit of the 42.
Right now about 60 days I believe. John is a one man operation. Right now he has about 30 plus orders. He does about three jackets a week (John correct me if I am wrong). So 60 days is about right.
Agree with all the comments on GW. I have had ELC, Aero, Buzz and RMNZ and have found nothing that matches. John Chapman the owner really takes an original and clones it. I really can't tell the difference between my original Doniger and my GW Doniger it is that good. The goatskin he uses is...
It appears to me that the Speiwak and Doniger are a little less constricting in the neck area vs my Roughwear. All are original WW2 size 44s. It could be the collar stand design of the Roughwear which causes this. My Monarch is a 46 and is a bit bigger than the Speiwak and Doniger but that...
John Chapman owner operator of Goodwear makes his patterns directly from original A2s. Thus his 44 is a 44 WW2 model. Of course to make alterations for us ah bigger modern folks he does custom work. I usually take a 42 in reproduction A2s (Eastman, Aero, and Buzz Rickson) but I take a 44 in...
Not to be outdone here is my 18091 size 44 original patch and nametag. Went through depot at some point as it got resprayed seal brown. Still can still the original russet color in the interior of the pockets. Agree goatskin on this jacket is superb even after over sixty years. Knits are...
Remember on their sizing they give about a 10 inch spread. So a 42 is about 52 around under the armpits. I normally take a 42 in Eastman, Buzz Rickson but I took a 40 in GandB.
I really like the goatskin G and Bs. If I was ordering an A2 for the first time I would go with that. I agree their HH jacket (which I have also had) is a bit smooth for my taste but the goatskin is outstanding. You can talk to their sales reps (which give excellent service BTW) and ask for a...
My new Goodwears
Got to show off my two new Goodwears. The first is a Doniger which is a clone of my original Doniger. Excellent Goatskin and the killer is you can't tell the difference between the original and the GW. Sorry for the poor photos in advance.
The next is the prototype...
I would take a look at ebay there are a lot of G-1s on there which can be purchased at a reasonable price. I would suggest probably a 44 or 46 for your size. Check the measurements and if not listed ask. You might also look at VLJ
