Just to let you know I got my overseas package today with my jacket (very happy it is the ANJ-3A The Few model which I posted earlier on this forum). The tracking still states it is in customs. Go figure.[huh]
This is very useful. I have a jacket in customs and it is 4 days. But then it arrived early last Sat morning. Do they work weekends? IF not then probably a couple more days in customs hold. Hopefully not a week.
Steve,
Great shot to compare with "The Few" jacket. They sure did a great job on copying the details to include the color on the fur collar. I have always liked that Monarch jacket either the ANJ-3A or the 55J14. It will be interesting to see the horsehide version of this went compared to...
Got a great deal on it. Sold my original ANJ-3A which was in excellent, darn I say, almost mint condition as it just didn't fit right (too long). Measurements on this jacket and having bought a RMNZ A-2 from this gent before (and it fit perfectly) indicate this will be the perfect fit. Price...
Just picked this up on ebay and got the jacket today. Got it for less than a reproduction Buzz Rickson B-15C. Overall in great shape and fits just like my Buzz B-15C Mod size 40. BR really got it right on the B-15C it is amazing the details they have captured when compared to an original. Enjoy.
Just got this near mint E model L-2B from a great seller on ebay. He is selling his entire nylon collection which is awesome. This is from 1964. Main zipper is a rarely seen crown peg zipper. Never seen one quite like it. Enjoy.
Well said. I have Buzz, GW, RMNZ, and ELC jackets and like each for their own uniqueness. As long as a maker improves based on customer input I applaud them.:eusa_clap
JACKET SOLD!!!!!!!
This jacket is a clone of my original size 44 Doniger. Only 10 months old. Has a triple marked original NOS talon zipper.
Pit to Pit 24
Sleeve length 25
shoulder to shoulder--18.75
front length--24
For reference I wear 42 ELC A-2s and original size 44s. This one...
Steve,
Very nice jacket and a rare bird at that. I just got a GW 16160 and comparing your pictures to the jacket I have I have to say John hit the mark again on this jacket. All in all we are both very lucky guys though I think you are a bit luckier with the original.:)
After the war some of the contract A2 makers made some civilian models. I have had both a Star and Doniger post war version. Were near identical to the wartime models. This may be one of those or as suggested a wartime private purchase.
Interesting point. I just got an ELC A-1 and had to get a 44 which is none to big either. I take 42s across the board in all of their A2s. Looked at a Luftwaffe 44 on ebay the other week and based on the measurements it would have fit.
Steve is correct on ELCs house versions (which are a melding of a couple of different contracts) he used a contract number that did not exist. I believe he probably did this as to not confuse people with a specific original contract. ELC does of course make A2 original contracts, Roughwear...
Wow tough question. I have had both and goatskin as well. Looking at the jackets it is hard if not impossible to tell the difference. I believe most prefer HH in A2s because most original A2s were made of HH. Of course I have three originals made of goatskin. In fact, some whole contracts...
