HA! I actually haven't seen him for quite a while, but he still looked relatively the same when I saw him last :) Though he's more indie rock than vintage these days. This must have been... 2005 maybe? Was the year before the Classic Style magazine launch at the Queen Mary event.
Dang. If we did all that cool outdoorsy stuff I would have loved girl scouts. My girl scout experience began and ended with a dance performance of a song by Wham!
I dropped out and did all my fort building with my cousins instead lol
I live in an area where no one dresses vintage and no one ever comments that I'm out of the ordinary :) And if they do it's complementary (phew!). But I very rarely go all out vintage- mostly just for special events. Day to day I dress casually by vintage standards- usually wear high waist...
It is a gorgeous dress and was worth all your work! Beautiful!
Cool- thanks for letting me know :) I was curious!
Love those shoes! Off to look for them right now...
That is lovely! Love the color!

Ditto the hem marker. I love mine to pieces!
I have to...
Sure thing :) They actually have a fabric store near me that they still have ladies behind a counter that pull them for you! It's like the fabric store that time forgot... and they still have some 70s interior fabrics in there (ick). lol
I have another question...
I found this today. Am I...

I ordered the 7 and they are too big and no longer have the 6.5 in stock. If anyone runs across a pair or has a pair to sell in that colorway please let me know! I am...
That's a great idea. They were also making new ones that looked very vintage with the faux fur collars just like the vintage one you pictured not that long ago.
They did make them with faux fur but they're not as common.
I have a faux fur jacket from the 1940s. It's actually pretty good- unless you get right up to it and touch it it's hard to tell. Nothing like modern faux fur- some of that stuff is unbelievable (but so are the prices. Eek!).
Hard...
They steal my bobbins, hand sewing needles, and writing pens! Darn pixies.
I'm having the scene from My Man Godfrey in my head...
"I don't like them, but I don't like to see them stepped on".
