I found this pattern cabinet today at an estate sale. It was covered in that contact paper, but we started peeling it away and here's what's underneath. we're not quite done taking off the contact paper yet. I don't know much about furniture styles... but I think they stopped printing...
Just wanted to post a couple of auctions I have up. 100% of the proceeds go to the American Red Cross to help the Japanese Earthquake relief and other works. If you know of anyone you think would be interested please spread the word.

LOL! How did I miss that? I must have not been on this page when I put "reply".
Great reviews, gals! I think I'll go for them. It's so hard to find cute shoes without monstrous heels!
Thanks for your help!
Has anyone here tried the Balboa shoe from Remix?
I have my eye on them and was just wondering if anyone owns them and has a review?
Sorry if it's been posted before in this thread and I missed it!
^ditto this.
I've had similar things happen to vintage garments I've worn, too :( A lot of times these days I opt for making my own or repro to wear on a more common basis because of the unknown lives of dresses before they get into my hands. Silk, especially. But I've had pretty good luck...
Some vintage prices just seem to rocket for some reason. I think a couple of people just REALLY wanted that piece. It seems a little high to me, but then I look at what BIN's are on Ebay, and what things are listed for on Etsy and sell in boutiques, and it might be average now [huh] vintage...
Totally agree re: pants widths. I really do think that's why the crotch on a lot of earlier pants patterns (and even into the 40s) were cut so low. It makes them hang off of the body more like a skirt with drape than show off the ...er... booty?
Love this. So WWI home front. Pretty adventurous for 1918! There was a pattern I missed out on that was for one of these outfits.
Would I wear it today? Heck no. lol But to a WWI era event, with pleasure :)
I found some pretty horrific things in a catalog last night. I'll have to scan them...
I have a pair of Indigo by Clarks I wear to death (the Gelato model), but they're discontinued. But if anyone runs across a pair in a size seven I'd love another pair... :D
If you're in the LA area there's a person who has a booth in Olvera street that sells those tooled leather wedge sandals...
