hailey, yes, it's after the gothic revival :) One of the Harper's Bazaars I have even has the fashion illustrations done in pen and ink similar to the style of those in the 1880s. It's quite unique! Victorian Revival in 40s
I love the Victorian revival look! Especially the little tilt hats with netting and feathers and such. There was a Victorial revival in the late 30s, too, that I particularly love :) In a lot of magazines I have they call it "Gothic".- Lauren

How to shrink a dress?
Sorry, a little late jumping in here, but I agree with the other ladies to please not try to shrink the dress. Even though crepe does tend to distort when it's washed it also starts to hang funny and puckers at the seams. It won't be a pretty dress anymore but a shrunken mess :( Much better...- Lauren
