Oops! I totally forgot about that :) I'll take pics soon.
I don't remember the size offhand, but I did use the hook that they called for in the instructions and the yarn was Lion Brand Fisherman's Yarn. I think I either got it at Michael's or Joann Fabrics.
Can't wait to see what you make!
I...
Holy smokes! I'm seriously in awe of your sweater! The colors are amazing. I can't believe you already finished that, and I didn't know it was you who bought it! Yay!
GORGEOUS WORK! I wish I was a better knitter!
Holy smokes! Good find!
The orange thing is 20s for sure, with the bloomers. The green is definitely 30s, the earlier half. If it's beach pajamas you just scored big time! *swoon* The lavender one is probably very early 20s. Amazing find!
K.McG, I think the hats are both 50s. I'm not so sure about the Schiaparelli one, though. Very cute!
Serene Irene, the coat looks 1950s to me. I love the wild lining!
It might be a bit of work, but you could remove the sleeves and either use the fabric to make strips to make ruffles for sleeves it there's a bit there, and if not you might be able to buy a contrast fabric to do that sort of thing and then add a bit of trim to the dress to make it match. Or...
I need help with the origin of a few vintage items. I got them together from a lady who said it belonged to a woman who was the wife of a naval officer and followed him around the world. Any help would me much appreciated! More pics on my blog.
Ooh! I agree!
I love Priscilla's costumes in "Varsity Show", too.
I just saw "Too Many Girls" from 1940, and I have to say I've added that to some of my all time collegiate/western inspiration. So many cute clothes! It has Lucy and Ricky in it- and I admit I did a double take. Ricky looks so...
Great finds, gals! Love them all!
I really love that teens coat dress pattern, Kamikat.
Miss Sis, I think I will :) I just got it and it has all the pieces (hurrah!) and some neat old newspaper inside from 1931. I dug in the stash and found some turquoise greeny silk charmeuse I might...
I was thinking this, too, last night- because of the little details. It's probably earlier half of the 20s. I've seem illustrations that are very similar (of course can't think of where I saw them now). But it's got some details that look like carry over from late teens style, the back...
I know, right? lol But I think it was like the third season or something. They were actually pretty understated- a 30s style draped evening gown in white chiffon and a 40s style shirtwaist dress in linen were the main pieces- but I think it was late in the day and they probably already had who...
