Help Copying Grandma's slip

Late to the Party

Familiar Face
The title should be I need help copying Grandma's slip - sorry

I have one of my grandmother's Barbizon slips. I drafted a pattern from it ages ago (which I'll have to redraft to my current, ahem, larger proportions).

I love this slip because it is cut on the bias, so any circumferential stretch comes from the bias, not thin flimsy fabric; it has shape, it holds that shape; and the material! Oh the fabric is loooooooooovely. It is super smooth, thick but not inflexible.
It is so finely woven that I can't tell if it is a twill or not. I don't think it is. Anyway, I'm hoping someone can point me to an equivalent weight and hand of fabric. I don't care about fiber content, I want something with the same characteristics.
Bemberg rayon lining is too thin.

Lovely!
I'd probably go with a charmeuse fabric. Silk is yummy and as soft as butter. Kind of a pain to sew but worth it :)
