Sort-of bad Fedoration experience
I got caught in a downpour while shopping, and the hat got soaked. The color at the pinch ran a little lighter than the rest of the hat, but it might have been my fault. I was forced to grab it by the pinch rather hard at one point. The hat's not ruined by...
That's good to hear
Root, I don't know if you're just lucky, or really good at finding a great car. My father used to work on cars back in the day (mechanical and body), and he tried going after classics. We both "learned" a lot that perhaps scared us away from them. I don't know. But I'll...
Women in hats are awesome!
MG and all the rest, keep wearing those hats, fedoras and all. You look great.
By the way, Lauren; Great glasses!
NB the Smitten. ;)
Wild Root...
I understand what you mean, and I realize that initially a fair vintage car isn't expensive. I've looked into it. The main problem is upkeep. Older cars always cost more money to keep running and safe, unless you go for a total refurb job, which is out of my league. Plus, I...
The only Indy comments I get anymore are from my friends! Ironic, huh? Oh, well. Unlike the chicken/egg thing, we know what came first! Indy wouldn't have worn a hat if it didn't look good.

New Car
I've seen plenty of nice cars here. The old B&W, Powerhouse.
I just bought a new car (my 2003 Monte Carlo lease was up). I can't handle the expense and responsibility of a vintage auto, but I got the next best thing... a new '06 Mustang! Complete with the Pony Package. Very nice...
Don't think it's an Akubra
It looks like a CEO with a higher crown, but the pinch looks hand-bashed to me. I wouldn't expect Howard to go custom, but who knows. Either way, it's a great step up from his usual ballcap-on-set look. Maybe he picked it up on location in France.

Gray AB for sure!
Riccardo,
Go with the gray. Steve has a couple of grays, and I've seen samples. I prefer his medium gray, but he also has a dark one. You'd have to ask him about light gray, though. As for the Indy look, he does wear a gray hat in two or three scenes in the first...
As a fun side-note...
:offtopic: Madness was a common problem in Wonderland, but for many different reasons. The Mad Hatters pal, the March Hare, was also mad, sort of. As a kid, I couldn't imagine what was so peculiar about a March Hare vs. any other hare. I later found out that people in...
There is a reason
The up-sides to getting a Biltmore from Miller aren't huge, but...
First, the prices are a bit lower at Miller than most other places I've found Biltmores. The qualities available might not be top shelf Biltmore, but it's a great way to break into Biltmores. The other...
Miller, again!
I don't know about Akubra's Fedora. The Fedoration is nice, but the brim might be wider than you'd want. So, I have to recommend Miller again. They have an open crown hat that has a choice of three colors and three brim sizes! Use the link, and scroll down to the lower...
Great pictures, and a crossover Thread
These pictures go a long way in illustrating the pro's of an earlier thread about facial hair and hats! You all look great. Love the 'stache, Lt!

I'm Convinced
Yeah, Sharpe. I really see the logic in that. Granted, I'd still like at least one more vintage that isn't an Open Road, but ultimately I think I'll be curtailing my ebay-hunting, and saving up for custom hats from Art and Steve. I have some ideas... now I just need the...
Welcome Jake!
A Litefelt Bailey is a good place to start. That's close to where I began my addiction. It should be enough to get you hooked.
By derby, I guess you mean the round-top bowlers. If so, I haven't seen much crop up lately for men wearing them (although I have seen women go for...
I'm impressed
Very interesting look, especially the bow. Looks like a really nice, soft hat. I'm guessing it's vintage, or that new Portuguese felt that Steve's been talking about. We have to know, Spiridon!

I agree with the straw idea
Maybe a narrow brim? Not super stingy, but maybe 2 to 2 1/2 inches. Might I suggest a milan straw. I just got one from millerhats.com that I like, and they have a bunch of styles and colors. Even gray!

Thank you, Gents.
Thank you all for the compliments (for Art as well as me). Riccardo, here's a link to the straw hat. It's the "Danville" on the left;

I have two new (truly new) hats to show off, but a recent battle with the flu has stalled their arrival here...
A while back, I became the proud owner of a custom Art Fawcett, and my first custom hat ever. (My apologies to Art for not getting these on the Lounge faster). No other hat I own...
