Well, I think I mentioned a while back that I was trying to get my hands on a narrow brimmed Dobbs. Not really a stingy brim, but something around a 2 inch. I ended up with 2! I'm between sizes, and I'll have both ends covered [huh]
Anyway, the first arrived today. It wasn't very well...
Oh yes, the Twins.
I believe Scotrace is talking about me. Last year I bought the Campdraft and also a 50's Open Road. Now I have two OR's. Anyway, as far as shape and design, the Capmdraft is pretty much dead on, open crowned and ready for shaping. But vintage OR's will be much softer...
Squat Squatter
ON TOPIC: :D The Squatter is the kind of hat donated for the Traveling hat, which I had for a brief time. With breaking in time, the Squatter will soften, and probably be as durable as it's brother, the Federation. The Moonstone color is fantastic. My complaint, though, is...
Random V.S. Thoughts
I've been thinking of doing just that, Tony, the next time I order a VS. But that's a ways from now, I think. I have one that I adore, already.
Anyway, has anybody else noticed that all of Art's hats, in profile, seem to have a distinctive nature that says "This hat...
Just my luck!
Before I could learn more about the Dobbs, I got a rather nasty cold. I was so out of it, I forgot about the hat! :( I don't think it sold, but I'm not so sure I'll be able to get it. Either way, though, you guys were helpful. Thanks,
NB
Thanks
Finally! Advice I can use! lol
Seriously, though. You guys have provided me with the questions I need to ask to judge the age, so thank you. I suspect it's a newer hat, but if it turns out to have details that peg it as 60's I might be willing to pay a little more. Either...
Handoff in Danville, PA
June 11, 2006
In record time, Not-Bogart13 passes the hat to Kim Steiner in the beautiful mid-day sun of Danville Pennsylvania. In the Pic, the hat's in the middle! lol
Seriously, Kim is on the left wearing a very nice Stetson 100, and I am on the right in my light...
I'm thinking about trying a 2" brimmed Dobbs, and I found one that is supposedly older. Here's a link to a photo of the inside. Can anyone hazzard a guess as to it's age?

Not the best price
I don't know Mr. White's work first hand, but I know Art's, and many here know Steve's. The price is much better from them, and the hat's are top notch. Talk to them first... that's my advice.

Not Vintage, but I promised
It's taken me long enough to get my pics of my new 2006 Mustang. I know, it's not what most of us are showing off here, but the new Stang does have some style, and reminds me of bygone cars...
I'm not 100% positive, but...
I think that was made by Gary White. You can probably find him with Google, try "Gary White Custom Hats" or something. At any rate, I know for sure it was custom made. They say as much in the DVD extras. My personal suggestion would to be to contact Art Fawcett...
The Baldwin is great
You'll like the Baldwin, I think, Hero. I have that hat, in steel gray. It looks very sharp, and is one of the best modern non-custom dress hats I've encountered. I just wouldn't put it through as much stress as the AB!
