I'm kind of of the opinion that the more you think it, the more likely you are to be disappointed by something. I overthunk my first order and placed a second almost identical order before receiving the first. Needless to say both were returned and I lost hundreds.
Just go through...
I'm the same. I thought a lower front looked odd then I realized my straight-hemmed HWM was higher on the front when worn. Now I have a DB on order and reckon it'll look pretty even all round because if the lower front.
Carlos, what jacket did you want? I had a 40" HWM with 19.5" shoulders, so a 42 with 20 would be feasible. I'm sure my HWM was on the high side of the manufacturing tolerance though.
It reminds me of the many Aero modification threads before the change.
The obvious answer is to simply approach AL as they're most likely to accommodate the desires of the OP.
That can be done, but I think it's seen by many as simply not as nice looking and just cheaper looking.
Also, there's a danger than the lining might sag below the hem if it's dragged down with anything heavy inside, particularly if there's no strip at the hem.
I had a good feel of it and maybe try-on at the April show but don't remember much other than thinking it was a good relatively lightweight alternative to the usual FQHH. It would be a nice addition to a wardrobe full of leather. Pretty sure it had a soft, suedey feel to it
Looks good and I also look forward to the pics. I have a black and cordovan one on order, so have a vested interest.
FWIW, Aero won't do elbow patches, but I don't plan on leaning on things excessively so can live without them.
All my jackets are buttoned and I've never noticed any issue with air coming in. I definitely wouldn't want a zipped inner closure as well. Apart from being totally unnecessary, it would just add bulk and maybe look odd.
When you first get a buttoned jacket, the buttons can be very stiff and...
Yeah, Fanch is like the Man from Del Monte when it comes to sleeve length, if that advert means anything to you.
I'm a bit of a sleeve length obsessive as well, and I'm happy with anything between the very top part of the thumb (the hidden bit just below the wrist) and the higher main knuckle...
Simon, yeah, rain and snow fear I not. I like the rubber soles so that I have the option to wear them in rain. I was wearing leather soles on damp streets on Friday and they still haven't dried out, which is why I veer towards rubber now. It's a pity Dainite isn't an option, as that would...
Chasseur, those look mighty fine, not to mention rock solid. I'm really impressed with what Lennon can do at the prices they charge.
Jimmer, both colours are non-standard but no-cost options. I was unsure about colours and hides, so they sent me I think 7 samples of black, brown and burgundy...
I had a similar thing, looked all over this site and came to the conclusion that lengthening the sleeves by say stretching was a non-starter. The only realistic and relatively cheap solution would be to get an inch added to the cuffs, assuming it has any, and even then the proportions might...
Here's some more pics of the burgundy Derbys after a week's wear. The flash makes them look brighter than they actually are, as they're darker and much closer to the dark cordovan of the jacket.
I also show a comparison with the smooth CXL black version. I must admit that I prefer the...
Hopefully edqc can rest in peace now:
38” Cordovan Stockman – 2.8kg; 38” Black Stockman – 2.4kg.
I believe the cordovan uses the more expensive and weightier heavy metal pigmentation impregnation process. ;)
Either that or it’s because the black one has no inner pockets and is an inch...
