What size did you ask for? It'll be interesting to see how the finished article compares to the specs, but at least they have a quick turnaround. I look forward to the pics and your thoughts, after all this heartache.
I don't think I remember this sort of detailed query before. My simple understanding is that if you want to maintain the solidity of a colour you choose goat.
For horse and I think steer, the vast majority want to see colour contrast asap.
If they've started, then they'll have finished by now, as it only takes a few hours. If you don't want that hide now, best to talk to them before they post it, as that's when the hassles really start.
They'll be able to sell it on for a few quid less and you'll be able to get what you probably...
I was in the RRL store in Greenwich Village last month and I'm sure they were selling second hand loggers at about $600 or more. They have some nice stuff there, but very pricey and I don't think the leather jackets are comparable to the much cheaper usual suspects.
MuyJingo, DM had (have?) their "Vintage" line, which they claim was made in the UK using better leather. They were about twice the price of the Chinese tat, but I wasn't impressed at all with the pair I got about 3 years ago and hardly wore them after a short while.
They're still on sale, but...
Much as I'd love to give these a go, they're simply too small to even be worth trying to make work. I'm just surprised they're so wide of the mark, but at least it makes the selling on decision very simple.
I doubt if the slim fit would have got past my knees.
Thanks, Boyo, but there's no way on earth these will fit without a starvation diet. They're miles out and at best two sizes too small for me. I just want rid of the horrors.
TBH, I'd need to go up two sizes, but there's nothing tempting me at the moment. I'm not sure I could now be bothered with the wait and the uncertainty over fit. At least it was only a hundred-odd dollars, not the thousand that you overseas guys sometimes risk on UK leather.
As I said on the Gustin thread, these are way too small for me, despite the measurements on the site seeming to match other jeans I have. Not helped by having them washed before I'd even tried them on, as I was working away from home when they arrived. I had them washed, as when I got a pair...
I only washed because of my bad experience with the Freddies, but then they're rougher and look like they've been dipped in indigo ink. The waist is definitely too small for me, but it's the hips that's the real problem, as there's no way they'd stretch enough to make me look anything other...
Just received my Heavy Americans and it's a frickin' disaster. Being away from home, and after my wife assured me they were the same size as other jeans, I asked her to wash them so that I didn't have the leaking dye problem that spoiled a pair of Red Wings earlier this year.
Anyway...
Wow, 20.5 is seriously short. Suppose it depends what height you are. Looking forward to the pics.
Jeff's looks great, by the way.
Butte, that looks like a jacket designed by a committee, or maybe someone who overthunk the mods.
I had a long debate with Aero about shoulder widths, with there being a number of ways to measure depending on who you talk to. I believe that's why they don't like to quote shoulder widths, as there's too much scope for confusion.
I think the method most likely to succeed is when you lay it...
