Here's my black Derby post http://www.thefedoralounge.com/showthread.php?73367-William-Lennon-Derby-Boots-Black&highlight=lennon+derby
Here's the Lennon page http://www.williamlennon.co.uk/footwear/78ptc-mens-traditional-leather-derby-boot.html
Lennon will send you many different leather...
Picked up my second Stockman from Aero today. It's black FQHH, 38", shortened 30" back, 25.5" sleeves. After discussion with Denny, I deleted the inner pocket and cord strip mods, so this is pretty pure. It's a de-modded clone of my cordovan Stockman, which I seem to wear about 70% of the...
I think there was only one prototype official Short Teamster which was sold recently, but it looked a bit different to this.
From what Fanch says about the Stuart, and given the shorter lower back measurement, my bet's back on a chopped down Teamster, modded under the old regime. It...
Looks good on you. My guess is a Teamster, probably a good few years old, but cut deliberately short. As a matter of interest, what's the measurement from the hem to the bottom of the half belt? It's 7.5" on my 40.
I have the same buttons on mine, but I thought leather lined cuffs were...
Hi again, jpk. I suppose what I meant was that the standard addition to the chest size for a HWM pit-pit seems to be around 6-8", which is why people often come down a size. That's presumably why it's always referred to as a boxy fit. Some like that fit, some don't.
If you want a jacket...
If say that if the pit size and a slim profile is critical, then the HWM isn't the jacket for him. Most of their other short jackets, particularly the new ones, are a slimmer cut.
Absolutely nothing wrong with the sleeves. Looks a great fit on you, but my brain can't compute Florida and heavy leather. Just compared it with treated, but I think untreated looks much better.
The main differences I can see compared to the Ebay photo I still have of my Che Guevara are: material looks thinner; bellows pockets look shallower; left chest pocket not offset as much; zip under right chest pocket flap; different inside neck label; no oval shoulder patches; no elbow patches...
The trouble is that Belstaff styles have increased exponentially over the last few years, so unless it's a classic style it's difficult to identify accurately. It's broadly similar to the heavy waxed cotton Che Guevara I had, which was a classic 50s style Trialmaster variant, but there are...
I think that's the same hide I saw at Aero recently, in which case it's almost black externally, but I think it might actually be an overdyed fairly bright blue leather. I gather the theory is that the true blue colour will show through once it's creased, scratched or scuffed. I'd be...
I quite fancy a blue something, but felt that a jacket might be too much, so I suggested a blue Shackleton to Denny. He said no, as it wouldn't be period correct. I ended up ordering a Dustbowl instead (not blue:)).
I was lucky enough to have a look at this jacket on Monday and was surprised how soft and supple it was, as I'd always associated steer with being heavier than horse.
It's certainly very striking and is a great example of how a small manufacturer can listen to and work with its customers.
Very nice indeed. Looks a bit like the Short Teamster they trialled. What are the dimensions, if you don't mind me asking - chest, shoulder, back, sleeves?
I was down at Aero today and asked to see the blues, but they only had one. It seems the others, including the waxy, are Insurrection-supply only. I'm not sure how that would work for a UK delivery.
On a side note, I did see a very interesting and unusual almost-finished blue jacket (can't...
I have to agree. For years I insisted on using shoulder bags as I always associated roller bags with air stewards and hairdressers, but suffered sore shoulders and deformed clothes as a result. I've now been using a roller bag for a year or so and couldn't go back.
If I was travelling...
I wasn't aware of Clarks DBs in that colour, so I went in today for a look-see but unfortunately they didn't have any. I've been wearing two pairs of their suede desert boots in a warm climate for the last three months and they couldn't have been a better buy, light and comfortable, although I...
At last the answer... I'm a bit surprised at the weight, as it seems to weight the same as my 38 Stockman, which I'd have thought was a bigger beast. I was basing my guess on my 40 Teamster, which is about 2.35kg. Maybe they've sown a few gold sovs into the lining for escape purposes. :)
Schitzo, cordovan's a colour that's really hard to get across to those that haven't seen it, no matter how many pics you take. I've got two and would have to say it's nearer brown than burgundy, but most folk seem to think it's predominantly purple. As to your weight, I'd put money on 2.2-2.4...
