Just watched "Arabesque" with Sophia Loren and Gregory Peck, filmed in 1965 on location in England, and at the risk of sounding shallow, I can't imagine that a more beautiful woman has ever walked this planet.
Developing my observations of Sophia’s stunning looks in this film, I’ve just been...
My thoughts are that the 30s styles aren't really made for layering, so best to go with a 38 for a trim look and just wear a shirt. Like Schitzo says, if you want to layer, then a 50s 38" would have been plenty big enough. I've been through the same issues and just had to admit that I'd bought...
Aero add a full FQHH patch inside to reinforce the opening and it's that that shows through. I did wonder if leather was necessary at all and whether or not corduroy or moleskin would do the job less obtrusively, but there must be a good reason for it.
I've had both studded and zipped inner pockets, but my latest two haven't had any because in my experience they do show through. I reckon the zipped one shows through more, but the stud itself can be obvious as well. A compromise which might work is an unsecured inner pocket, as Fanch had on...
The satchel has arrived and I like it a lot. It's in brown oil-pull leather with green pigskin lining and has a nice thick feel to the leather. It's 40x30x11cm and should look good after it's been knocked about a bit and suffered some scratches.
I have another bag coming in a week or so...
I received my October delivery natural wallet today, so a bit early. It's ok, probably worth $28 inc p&p, but I prefer my Mulberry one at four times the price. Having said that, I like the look of the new burgundy one and would rather have had that instead.
Yeah, the weight of FQHH has never been even noticeable to me. I sometimes wonder if those who think it's too heavy haven't got a dodgy storse one without realizing it.
I only ever put thin things in the pockets, like a credit card holder as anything thicker does give an unsightly bulge.
Mind you, I do wonder why the inner patches need to be FQHH and not just moleskin or similar which would surely eliminate the problem.
I'm the same now. My last two orders are without inner pockets. Better putting the £20 or £40 towards a shirt with pockets and save the look of the jacket.
You're almost there, glasshoppa. How's your footwear looking? I'm sensing something like Red Wings or Lennons might do the trick, and only then can you take your foot off the gas.
They look good. I'm glad it worked out for you. Your new belt looks seriously chunky with them, too.
I have a pair of Heavy Americans theoretically incoming next month, so I hope they work out as well as yours have.
By coincidence, I saw someone wearing what was probably a mall Irvin with a lighter fleece today in Edinburgh and thought it looked pretty good. I can only imagine how much better this version will look in real life, especially after it's been roughed up a bit.
If it wasn't for the waiting...
True, but I'd rather pay a bit extra to get exactly what I want.
Surely we Brits could come to some arrangement with Insurrection to get on their quick deliveries? An extra profit contribution offset by no transatlantic delivery charges, maybe. That way we both win.
6 months is mental...
