I don't know how much you have hunted but the average deer rifle weights maybe 8-lbs loaded. Carry it all day and if get's very heavy. A double rifle is going to weight at least 11-lbs. It's not going to handle like anything else you have ever carried especially after hours of walking...- Doublegun

Sorry but I would NEVER even think about carrying a low quality Italian made hammer gun in 45/70 let alone one re-chambered to 450 Nitro anyplace where I might actually need that kind of stopping power. Post #26 has two pictures of my 7mm "Sporter." That rifle was built in 1933 by Griffin and Howe using a Springfield 1903 action. There are similar rifles built off of Mauser actions. To me, this type of rifle exemplifies the classic American rifle.- Doublegun

This is excellent advice from someone who knows of what he speaks. A good 22 bolt action rifle and $20 of ammo is a great place to start. Accurate to shoot and inexpensive to feed. I was a big fan or Ray Bans since I was a kid, until I bought a pair of Maui Jim's. There is absolutly no comparison between Ray Ban or any other brand of sun glasses and MJ.
