Would someone please give me an overview of the various jackets (A-2, B-2, etc.). I have never understood who got what type of jacket and why and what are the various types of jackets.
Sorry for the noob question. I appreciate your patience.
Cheers,
Doublegun
Owing two FQHH jackets means it is going to take twice as long to break in each one of them. Obviously it is your money but you might want to order one, wear it, then think about the changes you would make on a second jacket.
As for the lining, stick with gabardine only. I had a wool lining that was just too warm in the spring and early fall. I sent my LHB back and Aero did the republic. You are rifhr, it is easier to throw another layer on under the jacket when it is cold.
As for the pockets, unless you plan on...
Watched the Super Bowl last night and one commercial stood out. Thought those of you who participated in or just read this thread would appreciate seeing it. It's a commercial, but it's so true, and one I found very moving.

Sort of. Ordered a pair of White's Travelers from Bakers about 18-months ago. Process was extremely easy and straight forward. Boots arrived as orderd and took about as long as they said they would. Before ordering I called a couple of times to discuss options and they were extremely...
I'm not sure if any trains pass by the building anymore. I found the station via GoogleMaps with the hope of posting a link but I am just not smart enough. In terms of the cost (actual estimates range from $80M - $300M) - yes, they let it go too far but the other aspect is the size - it's HUGE...
Back to Detroit, the estimated cost of renovating the Michigan Central Station was over $100,000,000.00 (that's one hundred million dollars) ten years ago.
Yes it was and yes, it it. The only real "win" for Detroit has been Hollywood's interest in Detroit as a base of operation over the last 4-5 years due to tax incentives offered by the former Governor. Unfortunately the new Governor, who took office Saturday, feels the film industry has not...
Like I said earlier, IF we in the US don't find a way to bring manufacturing back to the country Detroit's landscape is going to look very familier to most of the US.
Sorry to say, you don't have to look hard to find abandoned buildings. Sadly the residential areas are worse. MUCH worse. There are pockets of homes that have been saved and/or restored (Palmer Woods, the Edison District, Indian Village) but most of the city is in complete decay. As I posted...
Detroit has been dying a slow death for 50 years. It has nothing to do with the current economic situation BUT there is much to be learned from the demise of Detroit. Until we focus on bringing industry back to the US and balance production and profits this is what every industrial city will...
I've lived near Detroit for 20+ years and I wish I could say the author is being overly negative, but I can't. As was stated, Detroit was once a city of over 2 million and today the population is well below 1 million. Some of the buildings have been saved and renovated but for most it too...
I did not know that about the Aladdin - too bad. I've had mine for 20+years and I don't plan to replace it - ever. Might check on eBay for a "vintage" one. Replaement caps and lids are readily available (but probably made off-shore).
The biggest difference between 4WD and 2WD is how far off a paved road you are when you get stuck. I drive a 2002 Toyota 4Runner and run in 2wd most of the time but when I put her in 4wd and lock the diff that truck will go through and/or over just about anything.
Those old timers got...
