Brooklands are having a sale of a few (51 to be exact :eeek:) '30s and '40s automobiles that were used in the upcoming Captain America film.
Prices are typically between £1,000 and £10,000, though one or two are above this.
If you want to browse then the auction catalogue is here.

No, not a social disease, but an A1 style sweatshirt / cardigan.
It seems reasonably well put together, is made from a polyester / cotton blend, and they're currently half price in the sale at the Luke website, though with a limited range of sizes.
The sizes come up a bit small (I got...
Amanda advised using Aero's Front Quarter Horsehide for a motorcycle jacket. Whilst it is initially stiff, it softens up relatively quickly. The weight isn't an issue once it's on.
It terms of protection, I'm trying to find out if Aero can offer submerged stitching. Ideally a motorcycle...
The Cafe Racer is (I believe) a slightly longer and closer fitting jacket than the HG-5. It really depends on what you prefer.
However, as you're looking at Thunderbirds, have you seen the Storm?
I saw one at Intermot in October, and I much prefer it to the standard model.
I took a look at the samples at Archer Adams's emporium a couple of weeks ago, and noticed that the oil pull seemed to be a similar thickness to the FQHH, but it felt a bit lighter. As Bonneville mentioned, it's a softer leather too.
I was wondering why this might be the case. Perhaps someone...
OK, it's not Aero, but Schott do a couple of styles with a plain back. I like the idea of the slightly longer 660 in a 28" length.
Get Aero to base a jacket on that. :D
I've got:
Two Aero jackets. (One is a bit small and hasn't been worn for a few years, so doesn't really count.)
A Fjallraven Oban.
A Marlborough Classics padded winter jacket.
A North Face Gore Tex jacket with a zip out jacket that can be worn separately.
An old Sharpeye denim jacket...
Blethook supplied a bundle of materials to Aero for his non-leather Barnstormer, and they assembled them into a jacket. So I'm pretty certain that they'd accept a bolt of tartan for the lining.
It might be worth speaking to Amanda first to ask how much material would be needed, and whether they...
If it's £82 per metre and you need five metres then that's rather expensive. But if it's £82 for the minimum length then that's not a bad price for a piece of handwoven cloth.
Look on the bright side, you're contributing to keeping an artisan tradition alive, and the lining will be handwoven.
Though they don't have exactly what you're looking for, Ardalanish offer some rather tasty looking tweeds.

If I recall correctly, some of them are undyed and use the natural colours of the wool. Just don't look at the price...

I was in the centre of London yesterday, and decided to visit Patey Hats, who recently opened a shop on Connaught Street.
I've been wanting to take a look at their bowlers for a while, but they used to be based out in the wilds of Dulwich, and I never made it out that far. The shop opened two...
I found the Archer Adams shop in London this afternoon, and had a good chat to Mr. Adams who runs it.
It turns out that he's the only Aero dealer in the UK, and though he has half a dozen on the rails (including the possibly last Buffalo Cropduster), he prefers to get his customers to order...
Aero's FQHH does soften up significantly over time, but it needs a fair amount of breaking in. They do offer lighter hides, and I think that their oil pull looks great, particularly after some wear.
That said, it's not really that stiff, and you get used to it fairly quickly.
Aero will...
Wearing a set of blue pyjamas just isn't right for bashing Nazis these days. So Captain America has updated his look for the forthcoming film.
That jacket looks a bit Aero to me.
I'd be inclined to go for a light restoration that preserves as much of the fabric and patina of the jacket as possible.
Firstly, having the leather treated (though I'm not a fan of the too shiny post-Pecard's look) would help preserve it than leaving it to dry out and rot. (Or whatever old...
No direct recommendations, but Wesco, Danner, Whites and various other high end manufacturers off a custom fitting service. In the UK you'd be looking at Altberg.
It might be worth speaking to whichever of them is nearest to you, and getting properly measured.
If you've got money to burn...
Is it based around the Mojave?
I'm intrigued to see what John's cooking up for you...
How open is he to custom work? I was toying with the idea of getting a hybrid civilian flying jacket along the lines of the Electra (pictures now taken down), but wasn't sure if he'd go along with that.
