Aero Cafe Racer plain back

Hello everyone,
I am new here.
Hope you understand everything I write, because I am German.
I am 28 and live near by cologne.

My first question goes to all Aero-specialists.
I have an Aero "Curiser" Jacket in HQFHH in order, but I prefer the more fitted look of the "Cafe Racer".
I don`t like the look of the bi-swing back (hope thats the right word, I mean the peace of extra leather for more flexibility).
Does someone have a Cafe Racer with an plain back and is it comfortable?
By the way, I don`t ride a bike, so this would be my casual every day jacket.

Welcome to the Lounge. I ride, so my motorcycle jackets have the bi swing back. I do have leather jackets with the plain back, but they are not as tightly fitted as what you want. I have a HH jacket that was tight across the shoulders while wearing a sweater. It wasn't uncomfortable, but I could feel it binding a bit. A few days of wearing it and flexing and bending with the shoulders took care of the binding. Now it isn't even noticeable. I think yours will probably stretch out to accommodate your shoulders. If you get Aero's FQHH, that might be a different matter. Mine that needed some stretching wasn't FQHH.

The type of wonderful fitted jacket that you're looking for is the specialty of a shop here in Seattle, WA that ships all over the world, even Germany. www.insurrectionvintage.com specializes in vintage leather jackets, vintage cafe' racer jackets, vintage cowboy boots, Vanson Leathers, and Aero Leather Clothing. Give them a call...you can get what you're looking for in either new or vintage (the actual originals!). Yet, with vintage, you'll have to go with what they have in stock, as everything is one-of-a-kind in terms of patina, fit, etc. Yet, they have 100s and 100s of vintage jackets on any given day in stock. Although it isn't what you're looking for, I found the jacket of my dreams at Insurrection--a 1940s Hercules Half Belt in perfect condition. Below is a 1950s example of the type of jacket I think you're looking for.

No "action" or "bi-swing" back!

Thanks so far.
I have orderd a jacket at Aero and I will stay at the company.
The question is, which jacket is the better choice?
Should I stay with the "Cruiser ", or would be the plain back Cafe Racer the better choice for me?

For what you're describing that you like, you'll be happier with the Cafe' Racer jacket with no "action," "bi-swing," etc. on the back. It'll be much more fitted than the Cruiser jacket

Hi Mojo1057,
I agree with you that this is a more fitted jacket. Thats the way why I like the style to much.
I just want to hear from someone who is wearing a plain back Cafe Racer that the Jacket is comfortable enough to wear it every day.

By the way how is it possible to write JanSolo a PM?

Is it possible that someone writes eClairvaux and JanSolo a PM because I have a couple of questions to their Cafe Racers?
My Cruiser is ordered and I need some infos, quickly.

Well beaprepp
I think that you are getting alot of good advice on this thread. Sorry...but I'm not cm and kg knowledgable..only inches and lbs. I'm tall and on the lean side...so..if not using the jacket for MC riding..I tend to not be concerned with the bi-swing back. I do like a one peice back most generally. If you are on the lean side...I'd go for the trimmer Aero racer cafe...but if you're not..hoping to fit into one might be disappointing.

I am pretty good in chape, so that will not be the problem.
HansSolos figure is pretty much my type of figure and he is wearing a plain back model.

What I like is the sligtly longer jacket.
I really like the fit of GriffDeLaGriff Jacket.
For my personal taste is the eClairvaux jacket a little bit short, but thats exeactly the look my dealer prefers.

In real life, the cruiser looks much better. I probably change my order to 95 % into a cafe racer. For the last 5 % I´ll need an experience report of an member.

PS.: I still can´t write a PM:-(

The Cruiser looks in real live much better than on the photograph, but I will change the order in 95% into a Cafe Racer.
For the last 5% I need a exprience report of a member.

I still can`t write PMs :-(
