And earlier every year. I work for a large retail concern which will go unnamed. They started shipping Christmas junk by the truckload in April! Almost an entire truckload every week as well as the junk for intervening lesser holidays.

I believe you are referring to a pigment called "mummy", otherwise known as asphaltum, as it was the actual petroleum based substance the Egyptians supposedly used. It was believed in the 16th century that mummy as a pigment had lost some of it's volatile hydrocarbons with age, and the ground up...
Hmm,..maybe there were enough of them to burn as fuel for a while? Egypt had no coal reserves to speak of,..Also heard that they were ground up and used as a medicine! :puke: Horrifying!

Nice one. Could be the same pattern. Why would they feel compelled to change it much any time soon after the war? Seems the minor changes were made for the civilian market so as to make it a little more versatile for the average Joe. It's cool that it still has the hook and eye latch at the neck.
Yeah I'm thinking of getting a phone just for emergency use, but don't want the temptation of pecking away at the "keyboard" every spare moment that most folks seem to do who own them. Nor do I need an expensive calling plan for something I'd use maybe once a year.

My signature roast beef. Beef roasted in dry red wine with onions, rosemary, thyme, and tons of mushrooms. The leftover broth makes a killer French onion soup too.
