Leave it to Beaver on Netflix. Starting with the very first episode dated 1957. A lot of old shows there and in chronological order. Awesome blast from the past.
The venerable Stetson Open Road comes to mind, if you're looking to sort of "blend in" a bit without being afraid of being perceived as a fop. It's a sort of crossover fedora/western that looks great in either role. Whether going to town on Saturday, or hanging around the homestead. A great all...
Grem,...could it be short for Gremlin?
I know how frustrating these records searches can be. I had a half-great uncle,..(for lack of better description of our relationship) who was gassed in world war one and never recovered. He was my grandfather's step brother as his mother had remarried...
Looks like a Ron Wood impersonator?
Anyway, the Wathne brand seems to be defunct, as there are but 2 pages of "vintage" stuff on ebay that I could find. Too bad, because it was nice high-end stuff, the majority of it being made for women, but there are a few cool things for fly fisherman and...

Here is a procedure for removing such glues:

Yeah, same here. The comic also looks just too good to be true. The paper hasn't yellowed over the last 75 years at all it seems. Pulp paper used in comics, newspapers, and many old magazines from the day was not meant to be archival. So this comic is very fishy I think.
Yes. Good summation Doc. It did have a cool art deco feel to it throughout, but the gimmicky lighting was overdone, and the story just didn't flow like a good comic book story would. Another director would have helped immensely as Conran should have obviously been director of cinematography...
Yup. Very well put. Entertainment loses it's luster if viewed out of it's original context by people who can't really understand that context. It's almost like watching the most critically acclaimed Chinese film ever made without translation. The viewer would not be able to relate to it at all...
I've got a Stauer skeleton automatic that so far is all good. Some of their designs are quite nice. Such as the jumping mechanism watches which resemble old retro speedometers. Some of their watches have Japanese movements, and even a few Swiss movements now. Their latest turbillon at $2495...
Sky Captain. Kinda cool if taken in context. That is, as a late 30's comic book made into a movie, I guess. The visuals were rather cool, especially the technology depicted. The over-exposed and blurred highlights all throughout the film were rather distracting though. As in a potentially cool...
