I tried to sell a novelty lighter some years ago that I listed as being "zippo-like", or looking like a zippo,..something to that effect. So I get a nasty threatening email from some corporate wench complaining about how i'm violating their rights or some such nonsense and also a threat that...
I recently got whacked for a watch I sold to someone in Mexico. The money received plus postage was literally STOLEN from my paypal account! :mad:They claimed they never received it. Should have known better I know, but live and learn. "Buyers" are quickly turning into scammers now, as well as...
Getting to be about time for all us smalltime sellers of unique items to bail. I just recently put some stuff on Etsy again. Sold a few items too. :D
I think a huge paradigm shift is coming here as greedbay gets worse and worse. They've gotten just too big for their britches as they say,..
Yeah, I agree. It had a very different character from most world war two movies that were made in the 60s. "A Walk in the Sun" is another that comes to mind, as well as a handful of others, the titles of which escape me. I remember another in particular that starred Cornel Wilde if I am not...
A decal would rub off much like the army air force logo decals they used to apply to the sleeves of jackets back in the day I would think. Acrylic paint is the only way to go as it is flexible enough to last a while. With reasonable care could last a lifetime. "They" say not to wear an acrylic...
"Hell is for Heroes", starring Steve McQueen, Bobby Darin, James Coburn, Fess Parker, Bob Newhart, and Nick Adams. A great cast in a really good world war two film from the 60s. Was quite gritty for the era it was made, but had a truncated ending. Almost as if the production crew ran out of...
I think it's a matter of TV time or perceived time, versus real time. All of these episodes really only add up to maybe a couple of years in real time. Lots of it spent at the farm and at the prison. So it does sort of make sense in that context. And the biters do seem to be getting riper over...
Of course! :D Was a better episode this time than the last two I think. What with them venturing into the city again. And Carol! I certainly hope they aren't writing her out of the series after all she's done recently.
I quite agree. I have never felt any need to be always "connected". When cell phones first came out in force, I shunned them because I wanted to be left alone and unbothered whenever i left the house. I didn't want to be bothered by telemarketers, and the whole status symbol idea of owning an...
Here it jumped from temps in the 60s to single digits in a single day. Currently 3 degrees outside, with a predicted low of -11. Might get up to 6 tomorrow,...if all goes well.;)
Still fascinates and amazes me the amount of stuff including a LOT of still lethal ordnance that is being found in Belgium 100 years after the war. http://theweek.com/article/index/271738/speedreads-archaeologists-unearth-grisly-battlefield-in-largest-world-war-i-excavation-ever
Just watched the first season of "The 100", a scifi show about recolonization of the earth after an approximate 100 year wait to let the radiation from a nuclear war die down. Sort of hokey in ways as all these series can be, but still pretty good for a soap opera. I'll watch the next season.
Activated charcoal would likely work for smells too. The kind you use in aquariums. I recently doused myself with gas at the pump, (long story), but I managed to save my shoes by putting them in a fairly large cardboard box with an old sock filled with charcoal to absorb the fumes. Took a long...
