I've actually used them maybe twice, but the hats never blew off anyway.
It did allow me to relax and not grab for my hat with every gust of wind, though.
I like it short on the sides because it makes my hats fit better. lol
Also, the hair on the sides of my head grows faster than what's left of my hair on top. I have to cut the sides short to avoid the Larry Fine effect. :eek:
When my family moved to Hilo, Hawaii when I was 9 in 1970, the only departments stores there were Woolworth's and S.H. Kress. There was a Sears, but it was just a small storefront and anything you wanted had to be ordered and it would take months to arrive.
Woolworth's had a lunch counter...
After I started wearing hats again, a good friend mentioned that he had a hard time finding a hat that fit him.
He didn't know his size, but mentioned that a 7-5/8 was too tight on him. I filed that away in my memory, and many months later happened upon a 7-3/4 Dobbs brown stingy brim on...
Excellent news! It's such a shame that most of Johnny's shows from the 1960s got recorded over and lost, but it's wonderful that some of his older shows were preserved.
Hard to believe that Leno's been on for nearly fifteen years, and he's already planning on retiring.
