    New to this....sry

I hate to sound like a Nike ad, but just do it. I live in southern California too, and last fall when the weather cooled off, I just started wearing suits to work. It feels a little strange at first, but it soon becomes natural. Once you become accustomed to it, it won't feel awkward and...

    Long hair on men?

It depends so much on the person. With my bald spot and my baby-fine hair, no way, but on others it can be a good look. I agree that one should look at Golden Era artists and musicians for inspiration if you go long. Heck, it worked for Gene Wilder in "Young Frankenstein." ;)

    Let's take the PULLMAN!

Have we started talking about that yet? I'm really thinking of going. I've never been to NYC (or anywhere east of Arizona) but didn't want to go without knowing anybody there, and the FL event would take care of that problem.

    Are there comfortable bowler hats?

I have a British bowler that's bomb-proof, and a Knapp-Felt bowler that is stiff, but very comfortable. Fit is very important, my Knapp-Felt fits as if it were custom made.

    Hi...very new to this

I think a fedora goes with darn near everything. Or, try a pork pie like this: And welcome aboard! Browse around and you'll see a whole bunch of examples. Not all of us are in suit and tie 24/7. :)

    When Is Your Birthday?

Mine's coming up on the 16th of this month. I'll officially be in my late 40s.

    The Black Hat Brigade

I have three, one is a new-ish Stetson Chatham that I rarely wear, one is my Jake Blues Dobbs stingy, and one is another Dobbs with a 2-1/4" brim. I also have black Homburgs and bowlers and toppers. I like 'em, but I don't wear 'em on Friday evenings to avoid confusion. lol

    The Stetson Playboy

I love my Playboy. Its thin felt and wider brim are just the ticket when the temps soar over 100F.

    It's a boy!

Congratulations! Another Tony! :D I hope to be making a small contribution to his college fund in the near future, if I can only decide what to get. lol

If You Were A Vintage Super Hero

I can't think of a name yet, but I'd definitely have a Pierce-Arrow, an autogyro and a Zeppelin that launched biplane fighters. Saving the world... for myself?

    Unusually large size original A2 = $$

Well, ya see, if I hit the lottery I'm buying a Supermarine Spitfire. I'll need flight training in something like a North American AT-6, and then I'll need to slim down so I can fit in the Spitfire cockpit. That's the plan. First, though, I need to buy a ticket. lol

    Unusually large size original A2 = $$

I'd love to find one that big, but the better solution by far (for me, anyway) would be to buckle down and lose around 100 pounds. I still wouldn't look like a fighter jock, but it sure would be a better look. ;)

    Dobbs 20 What a peach

I think my singles ad should say "Must love Dobbs." They're rapidly becoming my favorites.

If you said you looked like one celebrity from the Golden Era...

Take your pick... Victor Buono and Raymond Burr in Perry Mason, "The Case of the Twice-Told Twist" from 1965, the only color episode produced.

    My fabulous new Optimo

That is a great lid! Excellent idea about signing and dating the sweatband. I wish the people who made my vintage hats did that!
