    Necktie Economics

Ya know what, I've never really gone into thrift stores because I can't imagine they'd have anything even remotely vintage in my size. I completely forgot about ties. I'll have to scout some in my area.

What kind of face/body can pull off a high crown?

Thanks! The ribbon is kind of a coppery-bronzey color. It looks almost metallic when the light hits it. I found a Dobbs Homburg in the color scheme and loved it, and started hunting for a fedora in the same colors. I found this one and it's probably the hat I wear the most these days.

Early War Birds or Late War Birds?

Didn't the Mosquito have, by virtue of its wooden construction, a rather low radar return? An early "Stealth Bomber"? A great looking and performing airplane as well. Two Merlins can really put out some power, eh?

    The Earliest Film You've Seen

Not the earliest, but an amazing example of film technology is "Down to the Sea in Ships" with Clara Bow. It features amazing footage shot on whaling ships, which must have been quite a feat in 1922. Here's the IMDB page: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0013085/

Help me date this 30s wristwatch

No, it was in fine shape when I got it on eBay last June. It went for around $200. The only problem I had was that the band was too short, so I found a small jeweler's shop locally that had the right size, and later the minute hand fell off and I had it reattached at tightened by the same...
