For that matter, Bogart wasn't exactly a giant either.
It seem to me that when closed cars and other covered forms of transport, buses, trolleys and the like became common, men still wore hats but they lasted longer, so they didn't buy as many. People (and their hats) were less exposed to the weather.

I think the time factor has a lot to do with adapting a book to a movie. I enjoyed the English productions of John LeCarre's "Tinker, Tailor..." and "Smiley's People" but they had the time, in the miniseries format, to portray more fully the events in the books.

Those wartime photographers amaze me. Who among us would have the presence of mind to take any pictures at a time like that, and who would be steady enough to take such great pictures? Incredible talent and what nerves!

Seriously, I'm glad that's over and they're OK.
The Palace has a ways to go before it's 100%, but they've done an excellent job. The Kress Theater looks pretty darn good, it's about the only example of Art Deco on the Big Island and they really put maximum effort into cleaning it up so that it shows its beauty.

I concur as well. I just have a more professional attitude in a suit and tie, and more confidence.
Also, I think those of us who are heavier, like me, need to dress a little better. Athletically built guys can carry off a casual look, but I just end up looking like a fat slob.
