They all are, these days. I think the designers in recent years have decided that chassis rigidity is more important than light weight when it comes to handling. They may be right, I dunno. I still can't get my head around a 2900 pound "Mini." :D
Well, if you're looking at vintage hats, the lightest felt I've found is my Royal Stetson Playboy. It's extremely thin and it's the weapon of choice when the temps go over 100F and the humidity's low. I think it provides more sun protection than a straw. Of course, if it's muggy, out comes...
That reminds me of a nice black Dobbs fedora I snagged on the 'Bay some months back. It was also described as a "Derby" or "Bowler" but I could easily see it was an open-crowned fedora. It turned out to have a 2-1/4" brim which suits me better than a true "stingy" when I'm in a short-brimmed mood.

I go through phases of wearing them on a regular basis and then not wearing one for quite a while. Since discovering the Lounge a year ago, I've re-connected with my inner grownup and I'm back in suits and ties with a vengeance...
I've seen a few, but never really met any, apart from one or two I've talked with in my business.
Recently though, I attended the Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony for legendary Los Angeles radio DJ Rodney Bingenheimer, and there were quite a few musicians there, and also actress Pauley...
That is a nice Caddy. :)
Anybody ever ride in one of those modern "Stretch Limos"?
I can't find anything luxurious about sliding through a standard car door and crawling on my hands and knees to my seat. :rage:
It's amazing how a dry-rotted tree can look just fine, right up until it blows over and shatters into many pieces on the ground. Fortunately in the case I saw yesterday, it fell on a lawn and didn't hit any structures or cars.
I only get tickets in 4-cylinder cars, so they're out.
Seriously, I've never gotten a ticket in a V-8 or a 6 or even my Mercedes 5 cylinder Diesel, but I've gotten at least one ticket in each of my 4-cylinder rides.
Oh, and in the last few days I saw an Aston DB6 and a late '50s Mercedes...
I managed to snag one of the last of the Sony CRT tube-type HDTVs for less than $500, a floor display model at a local independent electronics store. I absolutely love it. Yeah, it's heavy and it's only a 34" but the picture is superb.
