I for one don't automatically connote made overseas with lower quality.
I do, however, believe that if you want to see the USA become trampled under the Chinese economic engine, you should keep buying stuff that's made over there.
We are becoming a 2nd rate country, economically.
And we're...
Actually, I believe that they want your measurements in normal street clothes.
Then tell them that you plan to wear a sweater or whatever underneath.
They know how to build in the appropriate extra room based on this method.
When in doubt, discuss it with Amanda.

Bonneville,
Congrats on a great jacket.
I love mine and it's just right for riding my Speed Triple (ya gotta love them Triumphs)
As for stretching, my FQHH Highwayman's sleeves were a tad too short for my liking.
So, I went for a walk in the rain and got it completely soaked.
While it was...
Vance and I have a lot in common. (sorry if I just offended you Vance)
But I love both of these the same.
Each has little things I like better than the other.

Steve,
Welcome to the forums and Merry Christmas.
Thanks for serving and helping protect us all back here.
Even though most Americans don't say it often enough,
we all support and love our soldiers.
Your decision to get a HH jacket is a great plan; and Aero probably uses the best FQHH...
WHY??
They seem like a good deal.
I'm not looking for a 100% authentic recreation of an A2.
All I want is a reasonably priced A2 with nice FQHH, decent fit, and well made.
Where do the USA jackets fall short?

Here we go again.
If you want the absolute top quality in a peacoat, buy vintage.
See this thread: http://www.thefedoralounge.com/showthread.php?35824-PEACOAT-DATING
Also, a search of this forum will turn up more than you'd be able to read in a week.

Like Peacoat and CodeRed, I also own an Enfield.
It's an awesome jacket.
Very thick leather that is graining up nicely.
Every stitch is straight and evenly spaced.
The whole thing just exudes quality.
I like it even better than my Aero Highwayman in some respects.
Lenny
I have an Enfield and it is hands down my favorite jacket.
I don't think anything styled like that comes close for the price.
And as mentioned above, why not have Vanson customize the collar?
It'll take some time, but all things good come to those who wait.
I wear mine on the motorcycle and...
Sorry to hear of your bad experience with your Aero.
And I do recall mention of the Cordovan color staining clothes.
My Brown Highwayman doesn't.
It also doesn't have a strong chemical odor, just a nice pleasant horse hide aroma.
The more I wear it, the more "worn in" it looks, and I just...
I'll try to get some pix tonight.
But that might not be possible.
FQHH has the amazing ability to heal itself of all but the deepest scratches.
The constant rubbing against car seats etc has a tendency to buff them away.
Has anybody else noticed this?

I've always loved this coat and the Double Mackinaw.
But I must say I'm surprised to learn that it's a lighter weight wool than my Post WWII Pea Coat.
I have one of their wool vests, and it's nice and thick, but not as dense as the Pea Coat.
Lenny
Interesting design, just not my style.
It does look high quality though.
And Boiled Wool is great stuff.
It's huge though!
I've never seen a size 60 anything.
