On the contrary, both the lighter fabrics are better for rain protection than the Tin Cloth.
Reason being is that they both have a much tighter weave. The Tin cloth is definitely thicker, but
has a much looser weave necessitated by the larger thread strands of the fabric.
Forget where I read...
I've been eyeing this jacket for a while now.

Anybody have one?
What's the fit like?
What's the lining like?
I'd probably go for the cowhide one as I like my jackets to look aged
after some wear.
I know this site is...
One thing I learned on my Highwayman:
A G1 pocket behind an exterior breast pocket makes for a very thick bulge.
If you plan to wear this very close, this could make it very uncomfortable on both sides of the chest.
I'd suggest only one outside and one inside pocket, on opposite sides...
Welcome to the site.
You'll probably get this same exact recommendation from others:
Call Amanda or Will at Aero and discuss your concerns with them.
They are experts at figuring out your exact size based on what you tell them.
Just be honest with all measurements and tell them if you want...
I believe that chapter 3, section 4, paragraph 2.3.1 of the Motorcyclist's Handbook stipulates the following:
"All motorcycle jackets, be they leather or fabric, shall be black. Failure to comply with this regulation will result in the mandatory
ridiculing of said offender by every other...
Your brother in law should definitely return the jacket to Aero.
My Highwayman had to go back for some missed stitches, and attachment
of the bottom corderoy strip which they forgot.
Some of the stitching is also not the straightest, but certainly not like the stitching

Couple of comments.
With respect to HD's post above:
The hide on my Enfield puts the hide on my Aero FQHH Highwayman to shame.
When I put it on and stepped on the bathroom scale, I was 20 lbs heavier! :eeek::D
It's so thick I wonder if it'll ever break in. This might not be fair as my Aero...
No, the collar flap is very rigid and doesn't flap at all.
I think I could even ride with it up and it'd stay up.
But when it's down, it lies nice and flat.
Great design collar and just the right size.

Don't know much about Lost Worlds as I've never handled one.
I do own a FQHH Aero Horsehide jacket though which is beautiful.
Also, I've read over and over again that Aero's FQHH is the best out there.
The Lost World FQHH apparently takes forever to break in, doesn't take on as
nice a...
DUDE!
That's the perfect jacket.
It's exactly what I want my Highwayman to look like some day.
Mine is FQHH so I wonder if it'll look as good as yours.
I need to find an alley filled with bricks and sand and roll around in it. : )
Take lots more pix when it comes back.
Lenny
I'm with Peacoat on the G1 vertical pockets inside.
One thing I learned with my first Highwayman; if you only get 1 G1 inner pocket, you might want to consider putting it on the opposite of the outer zipped chest pocket (or vice versa). Reason being, having both pockets on the same side aligns...
