Here's a pic of my Highwayman with it.
I specifically wanted the Courderoy because it's more comfy and less bulky than the leather.
It lets the jacket conform more naturally to your body.
Plus, it has a beautiful sheen to it.
So far, it's wearing very well with only the slightest abrasion...
You might want to try their mid-weight Shelter Cloth or light-weight Cover Cloth.
Both are more breathable than the Tin Cloth and I'll bet they don't come as greasy feeling.

Before you return it, try this:
Hang it in a small room and put a space heater in it.
Crank it up to high and let it sit.
Maybe some of the oil will sink deeper into the fabric.
For what it's worth, I bought a Lewis Creek Waxed Cotton jacket.

Although not as thick as...
Killer boots Jimmer!
I originally wanted brown, then changed my mind to black for use on the motocycle and because I don't really have any
black boots that I can wear every day.
But these pix might sway me back to brown, or distressed brown.
Could you take some "post oiling" pix if you get a...
Awesome, can't wait to see pix of the new boots.
I agree on the real thing, I want the Nomads.
From the descriptions, it also seems that they use a lighter weight leather for the Open Roads.
And yes, your heel description makes sense.
Are there any differences in feel when walking between the 3...
I just saw a pic of the "Open Road" boot on the Bakers and Whites Boots sites.
They look identical to the Nomads but cost half as much.
Does anybody know anything about these?
I'm sure they aren't built as well as the Nomads, but I'd like to know where they fall short.
And...does anybody know...
Jimmer,
You rock!
Thanks so much.
But, (isn't there always a but) what's a half sole and what does it do for the boot/your foot?
And the same question for Leather Half Slip (half a midsole). The Bakers site shows it as an option but it looks like a regular midsole.
Finally (for now) what is the...
Thanks Jimmer.
I assume you mean "with OUT added cost options"
That's quite reasonable for a pair of custom fit boots.
I assume they were custom fit, right?
Or do they sell standard size 8 boots without measuring for example?
Where is Bakers?
How do I do the ordering process?
Do I need to visit...
Darn you Jimmer, now I want a pair.
Could you please post how much they cost?
If not, just PM me.
Do you need to go to a dealer to order them, or can you just do it through the White's site?
They seem to contradict themselves on this question.
Finally, can you take a few pix of you wearing...
Does anybody own one of these?
If so, I'd like to see pix of them wearing it.
I like the style but don't know much about their products.
Any comments on fit, finish, quality of the goat vs cowhide, etc would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks all,
Lenny
OK all, here come the questions.
I've been wearing jeans all my life, either Wranglers, Levi's, or lately Lees.
I only wear the basic straight cuts.
They look good with just about everything, wear like iron, and are worry free.
Just wondering what all these other Japanese brands bring to the...
You might want to re-think hanging your leather jackets.
If they're really heavy, and you must hang them, make sure to use really wide (thick) hangers to distribute the weight better.
Otherwise, you could end up with stretched out shoulders.
Lenny
I know this is a long shot.
Anybody have a Vanson Enfield, size 38 that you'd like to trade for my size 40?
Mine has been worn, but you could never tell.
It's not even broken in yet.
I'd also consider selling it if no trades come my way.
