Could somebody tell me about FCL's naked leather please?
Is it water resistant?
If not, what product would you use to give it water resistance?
Are there any benefits to naked leather over the kind that Vanson uses?
Thanks all.
Lenny
Although I've never seen a Fox Creek, I've owned several Vansons; right now the Enfield. I totally agree with everything that Pea Coat has said.
THe jacket almost feells like it could stop a bullet, it's that substantial.
I've been riding with it almost every day since I got it (about a month...
I'll second this opinion.
I have a Large Duffle and a Med Field Bag.
The Duffle has been used almost every day either for gym or mountain biking gear for like 5 years. Still looks almost new, and has gained "character" along the way.
The Field Bag doesn't get used that often, but I think...
I'm with Hoosier.
Now that my Highwayman has finally broken in, it's
the most comfortable jacket I've ever owned.
I also don't find it too boxy.
Certainly more boxy than my Vanson Enfield, but I still
love the way it looks.
Plus, being boxy, it allows me to fit a sweater underneath
for...
Coop,
Yeah, the arm length of my Highwayman stayed at the stretched length.
Just like I wanted.
Enjoy that jacket.
One of the nicest I've ever seen.

I'm totally with Coffee.
Wool works when wet or soaked with sweat.
Plus, it's much thinner than down and will fit under more outer garments than a down vest.
The Filson Vest I bought is one of my all time favorite pieces of clothing, very versatile.
Plus, the black/grey check pattern looks...
My Enfield's zipper also has the plastic box and male slider pieces at the bottom. They're very substantial chunks of plastic.
If anything, I think they're an improvement over the brass pieces because they have a lower coefficient of friction, thus allowing easier sliding of the parts. Sorry...
Well, lemme start my answers to you Navin by saying YOU'RE A NUT FOR WEARING LEATHER IN 95 DEGREE WEATHER!
And you're a much tougher (stupider) man than I am! lol
I will wear it in my house in the AC though.
The jacket is black.
Unfortunately, the open house is over.
It is a nice jacket...
Sorry, no pix yet.
I'll try to get some up this weekend.
But I gotta say, it's a beautifully made jacket.
Easily the equal to my Aero Highwayman in terms of quality of stitching, leather weight, appearance etc.
It's a substantial jacket and would definitely protect me in a high speed...
OK, I'll try to get the wife to take some of me tonight.
BTW, the whole jacket got nice and supple and looks really beat now.
Just the effect I was hoping for.

Yes, it can be done.
When I got my Highwayman in Jan, the fit was perfect, made just like I asked.
However, I realized that I should've asked for another .5" length in the arms.
Last weekend, it poured for most of the weekend.
So, I went outside in my Highwayman and proceeded to get...
Great wallet Jan.:eusa_clap
I want to see it after a couple of years of resting against your butt!lol
Unless you're a front pocket wallet guy!
It's gonna take a beautiful patina.
