This is one of the reasons I had Aero sew a Courderoy strip in at the base of the lining. The main reason, however, was to prevent wear to this part of the lining. Leather will also work, but I like the look of the courderoy better. It has a nice rich sheen to it and looks great next to the...
I'm trying to decidee between the Mercury and the Enfield.
Love the clean looks of the Mercury, but alas, it has no adjusting straps. I'm afraid it'll be loose and sloppy looking at the waist.
Anybody have any idea how they're cut?

I gotta chime in here.
Aero lined all the pockets in my Highwayman with courderoy too.
It's a really nice feature and definitely keeps hands warmer.
The courderoy will probably hold up longer than the cotton pockets will too.

I'm getting more interested in purchasing an A2 in the future.
As much as I love Good Wear's jackets, I don't want to spend that much, wait that long, or care about complete authenticity.
So, I'm looking at the lower tiers of A2's.
Aero's and Eastman's are also too expensive for me.

Wetting the jacket and wearing till dry will definitely help breaking it in.
It probably won't stretch much, though, if at all.
It will, however, conform to your body with prolonged wear, and be more comfortable.
As for the Obenauf's, don't do it...
