Like others, I'm at a loss for words. Just sad and very sorry for your loss. I'm sure whatever you write about Daniel will be wonderful. Praying for you.
Nice looking hat! Looks good on you. I'm glad it showed up and you're happy with it.
I agree regarding the lining. My lining and sweat band leave a little to be desired, but are OK. Like you say, it isn't a $1,000 hat, but it's worth the price.
My brim snaps down just fine, so I don't know...
Nice! Love women in straw hats. Haven't been 'downtown' (as we call it) in quite some time now.
I'm starting to have a problem with wearing straw. With my beard being long and now white, people think I'm Amish.
Not that there's anything wrong with being Amish. It's just that I probably give...
I grew up just south of Wrigley Field, on Sheffield, for 23 years. I remember as a kid, taking the bus to Hats Plus at Six Corners to by my uncle a hat for Christmas. Sorry to see that brick and mortar close.
Sorry to hear. Yes, loss such as this will certainly change your perspective.
Nice haul on the Optimos. Congrats! I live just outside of Chicago and I don't even dare drive over to their shop. :-)
That's how you do it. I'm sure it will work fine. The one I used was a cheap piece of garbage.
About a year later, I had downloaded and printed a sizing guide that you tape around your head and it gives you the measurement.
I kept comparing that with the measuring tape and I couldn't figure...
I really can't remember now. Unfortunately, there was some shipping back and forth, so it might have been a couple of months.
The first hat was the wrong size, which was totally my fault. I never knew a measuring tape could be faulty.
Oh no, I sense a thread hijack. LOL! I promise I won't...except for this (HA!), Those Fred Rose whistles are gorgeous. Good for you.
I was considering a Chieftain or MK, but I'm still trying to figure out what's right for me.
I'm going to be sitting in the yard this summer with my Panama hat...
I can't argue with you there Steve. I'd love a BB straw too. I also could not spring for a $500 hat at this time.
Well, not even a $350 hat, considering I've got my eye on a nice low D pennywhistle for over $200.
Funny that they're called pennywhistles. That's a lot of pennies :-)
Can't help you with pics or experience, but I clicked on the enlargements of The Hemingway on his site and they do show some irregularities. Wouldn't those be considered a good representation of what you might get? Wondering a little myself.
I guess if you were going to take a chance on a hat...
