My hat is enroute to me. I bought a super fino with a 3 1/3" brim. Looking forward to it. I got a super fino Havana from PHD some time back. Very happy with it. I'd say the sweat left a tiny bit to be desired, but it's OK. It's a really nice weave and a beautifully shaped hat. -

I can't really say for sure what the felt is, but it looks like the felt on the lightweight does not get finished to the utmost. Just by looking at the picture, the outside of the Lightweight looks a little more like the inside of the Stratoliner I got recently. Either that or could it possibly... -
It's Spring. Show your Straw hats if you have 'em
Not in North Dakota, but in MN. It doesn't have to be bitter, although I don't care. I would just like it to be longer. If spring, summer and fall lasted 3 months, I'd be thrilled. Desolate is fine with me too. I love spending winter in Door County WI. when everything is closed down. -

I was thinking North Dakota or northern MN would be right for me. I would always opt for longer winters. Here in northeast IL, we've had periods of spring in every winter month this year. Can't get a good ice rink going anymore. -

I know this was an older inquiry, but it's interesting that I had recently gone through Optimo's site to show my dad a finely crafted Milan and I don't find any. No mention of them anywhere. I wonder if he still makes them. -

I need to use an old insulated camo hat for snowblowing, because I also use ear protection (your a smart man). I usually get sprayed by some nasty stuff at the bottom of the driveway and I want a hat I can throw in with the wash. -

It looks to me like the Filson ear flaps do a better job of covering the ears than the Stormy Kromer does. On the SK, you just pull the flap ring down from the sides, instead of folding them down or out. They are OK in a pinch, but they don't really cover enough or stay down. It's OK for me... -

I just figured I'd let you know that I greatly improved my hat. It's not perfect, but much better and at least I feel like wearing it now. I boiled water in the tea kettle and used a small sponge to wet the problem area, then I steamed it. I folded the area in question in on itself and pinched...
