That's what I was thinking, but I searched around and found a 1 star review on another Stratoliner (different color), so maybe it was more the comment that I don't believe the hat should have ever cleared quality control. :) -

Short of a catastrophic failure of the straw, I'm sure there are tons of things that can be done to 'doctor up' a damaged panama, but yeah, it 'is' too bad when it's an expensive one. Good luck with your repair. -

No, it is the 7 1/4 that is too small and the next size up (7 3/8) is too big. There is no in between. Yeah, it is that possibility of shrinking that concerns me about the one that's a bit too snug. Thanks for letting me know. -

Me too. Lots of ball caps. Most commemorate various hockey championships (Stanley Cup, Turner Cup, Calder Cup, and Canada Cup). Funny, they are 'ball caps' and out of all of mine, only two have to do with baseball. -

Kind of like Sinatra or Sammy Davis during a dance number. I'm sure it's been done by a lot of them. Some guys can pull off any look. Not something for me to consider though. I look totally ridiculous in anything that isn't dead on straight and pulled down in front.
