I've got the Gustin and it's really nice. Not too heavy, and not too light.
Very nice for the price.
Sorry, that doesn't help as they're not making them any more.
There's always the chance that it might be available on eBay eventually.
My suggestion, as previously stated, find a jacket you...
Hey all, just discovered this thread.
I have a pair of custom brown Boss boots.
Loved the color when they were new.
Then I applied the bee oil and a coat of Obenauf's and the color darkened considerably.
I was wondering if they ever fade back to the original color.
What are your thoughts on...
I have two pairs of Wesco Boss boots; an off the shelf black pair, and a custom brown pair. I disliked both intensely, until they broke in. Now they're great to walk in, up to a point. 5 Miles is probably tolerable. But I won't do a 10 mile day like I'd do in my Salomon hiking boots. Both...
This process really doesn't solve anything for 2 main reasons:
1. Animals aren't killed for their hides. The hides are merely a byproduct of the food industry to a large degree.
2.This "hide material" will still require traditional tanning techniques and chemicals.
I've had 4 Aero Highwaymen; the first 3 in FQHH, and the last in Steer.
By far, the steer is more beautiful. It has developed much more
graining than any of my FQHH jackets ever did. It's also super soft and drapey and just
a comfy joy to wear. My FQHH jackets always felt like cardboard in...
I've lowered the price for the ebay sale.
FL members can buy it for $80 net to me.
This is a really warm great looking jacket and I'm motivated to sell.
I just have too many jackets.
Thanks for looking.

OK, I couldn't stand it so I purchased one of the Filson's in grey/black plaid. Like I said above, I'm 5'7", 150-155lbs soaking wet with a 40" chest. I bought a small and it fits great with room for a sweater if it's really cold. My local dealer sold it to me for $340 so I got a decent deal...
Don't buy new. The older Navy Pea Coats made with Kersey Wool will never pill. The fabric really is that much better than the modern stuff.
A quick search shows quite a few...

That is nice Joel. And it comes in a lot of interesting colors.
I wish they listed the wool weight, though. I really need something warm and short.
Now that you started it, does anybody else have other suggestions in a similar jacket?
Thanks.
Thanks Stringmaster. That looks great on you.
BTW, what's your chest measurement?
I thought I liked the gray/black plaid, but the Navy also looks killer.
I'm only 5' 7", 150 lbs.
Does that mean that I have to buy an XS?
Great conversation on this topic so far. Thanks for all the opinions and comments. One question though, could somebody tell me exactly what "Nubuck" is?
Thanks
