They are made by a company called Archmolds. The Archmold Maximum is the model I use in my boots.

My redwing branded beds have yoursole.com printed across the bottom of them but thats it. Ive had the redwing recommended for your foot insoles in them and they werent worth having so i returned them and got the heat moldable ones i have now. Ill have to check out the archmolds too, i cant imagine them being too different. Another brand i know makes insoles for skates are sidas insoles that come with some graf brand hockey skates. I have no experience with them though. I wouldnt be suprised if sidas makes multiple insoles for boots and shoes also.

The salesman at my local Redwing store told me that Archmolds makes the heat moldable insole for Red Wing as well. Having owned both Archmolds and Red Wing insoles, I believe he is correct.
OneEyeMan, I don't think you will be disappointed. I have been using these insoles for about 10 years now and I wouldn't even think about trying something else.

I wouldnt doubt they both make the same insole for rw. Either way im sure you cant go wrong. Theyre way better than any off the rack insoles ive used. Im on my feet 15 hrs a day for sometimes months at a time. Trust me, i like to be comfortable

Walking heels. Love the standard heels on my typical western boots, but for engineers and others, I prefer the walkers. Looks like cork too - my favorite sole.

I believe they're the same sole as on my Iron Rangers. They might lack the Brando-cool of some of the other options, but you can't argue with the practicality of them.

Interestingly, all the British bike boots from the classic era, including even the likes of Lewis' take on an American-style engineer boot, had the low heel. I wonder is this just coincidence, or is there a specific reason for it. Traditional horse-riding boots in the UK were always low-heeled - not that dissimilar to a Lewis motorcycle boot, though less likely to be zipped-up the back traditionally (not uncommon now). Can't imagine the typical riding position on a British bike affected the feet that much, as distinct from leading British jackets to be much more likely to have a side-buckle.

Same. Boots are my number one favorite clothing item. Shoes are always the most important part of your kit/outfit IMO.

Lone Wolf boots are quite nice.

Complete beginner question here: Does cordovan (as in horse butt) work well for engineer boots or is it better left for dress shoes?

Well I don't have any experience with the leather, but being as I like wear my engineers while dog walking and gardening I don't think it would be suitable at all, at least not for me.

Sure, I don't see why not. I'd check with "Brian The Bootmaker." I have a pair of Allen Edmonds' Dalton wingtip dress boots made from cordovan horsebutt, and they are beautiful.

Himel Bros did a Horse butt (strip) boot with Ace Boots

and he keeps talking about another run coming some day from Viberg, but for my money (at the moment) Attractions Horse Butt are the way to go!
