If you look elsewhere in this forum you'll find my post on my new Highwayman which is my 4th.
I also noted that of the 4, this new one has substantially wider sleeves. For me, it works perfectly as it makes the jacket
very comfy and easy to put on and still look great. I don't know if Aero has...
Thanks for all the congrats everyone.
I'm really liking this one.
And this really is the one (besides my black Vanson Enfield)
My original leather jacket goal was one brown casual and one black riding/casual jacket.
I will now be content to live with 2 leather jackets until I'm 6' under! : )

OK I won't go thru the entire history, but this is my 4th Aero Highwayman.
The first 3 all had fit problems of one sort or another, mostly too short or tight in the shoulders.
The first 3 were also FQHH and ordered from Mark Moye (the 1st) and directly from Aero (2 and 3).
This time, I switched...
Or if I'm not wearing my reading glasses!
Sheesh.
BTW, I asked Carrie at Insurrection about this as I'm having an Aero jacket made and am also concerned about it.
Here's what she wrote back:
"Aero doesn't offer a larger zipper...they only have the #5 standard Talon or the #5 Hookless...
Ordered a brown CXL Steerhide Highwayman, size 40 with Carrie's help at Insurrection.
She recommended shoulder gussets as my current size 40 jacket felt a bit tight in the shoulders.
She recommended this instead of upsizing the top half of the jacket so as not to change the basic shape of the...
Ask and ye shall receive.
Oh, in the first pic, I'm leaning back ever so slightly so the jacket looks even shorter than it really is.
I'm asking for the following:
+2" on length
+1" on sleeves
+.5" on shoulders
-1" on waist hem (-2" total)
Just put the order in with Carrie and paid the deposit.
I mailed my jacket to her this morning so she can measure it and make adjustments for the new one.
I really think the fourth time is the charm! :D
BTW, I'm gonna go for brown CXL Steerhide.
I'll ask Carrie if they have different...
Don't like goat as it really doesn't grain up and develop patina that well.
As for MWHH, I've read that it's nowhere near as nice as the FQHH.
And many have said that the CXL Steerhide, though heavy and stiff at first breaks in very nicely.
I have a Vanson in their competition weight steerhide...
Awesome information all, thank you so very much.
I'm gonna work with Carrie at Insurrection to get the perfect fit.
I'm also gonna stay with the regular Highwayman for 3 reasons:
- I like the way the boxy cut looks on me
- I need the wider sleeves and sleeve openings as my shoulders aren't the...
Doesn't the 30's Highwayman have higher and slimmer arm holes and slimmer arms.
If so, that's a no starter for me.
I want it easier to put on and take off when I wear long sleeve shirts, not harder.
Perhaps Carrie/Aero can work out a compromise cut, don't know.
I like Peacoat's suggestion the...
I'm pretty sure I'm gonna send my current Highwayman to Carrie at Insurrection and have them build a new one directly tweaked from it.
Does anybody know if they take trade ins or do consignments?
